“Rasmussen: Mccain leads in key Blue states”

This should come as no surprise.

I’m not so sure. At some point, Hillary and Obama will put on at least the facade of making up and quite possibly even run on the same ticket. Then the enemedia will pull out all stops for their nominee and the long knives for the Democrat lite candidate running as a Republican.

What? Without the “true conservative” vote?

Over the weekend the news media was reporting Obama way ahead of Hilary again by 10 points, and the McCain vs. either were within only a point or two with McCain ahead.

I was feeling a bit rattled by those polls which were by Gallup. However, Rasmussen has shown a serious decrease in Obama’s popularity since the Jeremiah Wright tapes were aired. I think the MSM is trying deparately to rehabilitate Obama. It must drive the Clintons crazy to see the MSM turn on them like pirahnas.

I spoke to one of my sisters this morning and we both agreed that while Hillary is a terrible prospect as President, Obama is seriously ten times worse. Neither of us is happy about being saddled with McCain as our choice.

We Conservatives need to really get out there and find some good young candidates to run for Congress and for governorships. Without new, energetic leaders we are finished. Maybe it’s time for us to rollup our sleaves and get to work. In many ways, I have been a bit lazy about this. I figure someone else will do the work. But, if we don’t promote good new candidates, who will? Certainly we cannot rely on the MSM.

I can hear RINOs everywhere popping their champagne corks. Don’t tell them the election is seven months away and nobody’s even begun running against Queeg yet. Let them enjoy themselves.

Earlier on, when Obama was in better control of his message, I was inclined to believe there was no way he could lose this election.

Particularly when faced with a McCain.

As I always say, reality always gets a vote. Obama seems to be unraveling almost as fast as Clinton. They are both corkscrewing into the tarmac as faster than I could ever have imagined.

I will leave further prognostication to the skilled tarot readers. I am clearly out of my league.

This could be the election that finally puts the red state vs. blue state nonsense to bed. Obama could take some red states and McCain could takes some blue states. It would be nice to get rid of all that division anyway. Now if all 50 go red that is another story. lol.

Won’t happen... HillBilly will not settle for VP slot and if Fauxbama is forced to VP after winning the popular vote the blacks cry conspiracy and you get 1968 or worse.

There is no win for the Dems. HillBilly is better off riding to the convention, and if the super delegates force her to step aside, she simply demands the NY Governorship in exchange, knowing Fauxbama cannot win, she then runs for Governor of NY and returns to try again in 4 or 8 years.

HillBilly will destroy the party before she’ll step aside... and if Fauxbama has the public voting lead and doesn’t get the nomination... the Democratic party basically implodes.

McCain could win in a near Nixon or Reagan landslide fashion. And that would be a BAD thing. Would see it as a mandate for his left leaning ideas, closing gitmo, tax hikes, global warming scams along with Kyoto II, support for the illegal alien invaders and continued open borders, and lord knows what else.

He needs to win, but by a close but almost comfortable margin.

He’ll win because, unlike Hillary, McCain’s aircraft really did a corkscrew landing under fire. Problem is, it landed nose-first! </j>

From Rasmussen Report on Michigan:
...McCain attract[s] 43% of the vote when matched against Barack Obama. Obama earns 42% while 8% say they would vote for a third-party candidate and 7% remain undecided.

If Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee, it’s McCain 45% Clinton 42%. In that match-up, 10% opt for a third-party candidate while 4% are undecided.

Hmmm...It might be true. Michigan--my former home state--might just be coming around. The dems have always won by pulling the Detroit vote (Detroit votes more democratic than Berkeley, CA. Take away the 92% of 950,000--and falling--population of Detroit, and you've got a solidly red state). The dems have taken the last few presidential elections there, but not overwhelmingly--between 3 1/2 and 5%.

In addition, McCain has always been popular in MI. He won the primary going away in 2000. There was a lot of cross-over mischief, but there was a lot of sincere support for McCain, too. I guess it's the war hero thing.

Seeing that the state is circling the drain economically, maybe people have finally had enough of our Kim Novak look-alike Gov. and Mayor Kwame in Detroit. I'd like to think so. Michigan will always be home, and I hope things turn around there.

I agree!!! The MSM is 'in the tank' for Barack Obama. Right now, they are busy taking out his primary opponent (Hillary Clinton). When she is gone, they will focus on making John McCain look like an imbecile. It will be sad to watch...I don't think that McCain has any idea how badly the MSM are going to dump on him.

Same is true here of PA... Philly is Blue to the core.. and the SW corner used to be around Pittsburgh.. but every election the counties that go Blue decrease around pittsburgh.. basically Allegheny County is the only one left blue here...

Philly is the only thing that has kept the state blue in the last presidential cycle.

And if Fauxbama gets undercut by the superdelegates for HillBilly... you know damned well who won’t be showing up in numbers in Philly like they usually do. HillBilly on the other hand is abjectly hated in this state.. I don’t think she could win it even without the democratic party chaos that is going on.

I think that either Obama or Hillary could lose the election in a landslide not seen since George McGovern was defeated in 1972. However, it’s not over yet.
