Animal enthusiasts have set up a medical expenses fund to help a dog thrown from an overpass and onto an interstate - and an $8,000 reward for information leading to whoever injured the animal. The boxer, named Seven, suffered a broken jaw and internal injuries, according to the Humane Society of Utah. "We just think it's a senseless, violent act," said Gene Baierschmidt, the society's director. About 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, drivers reported someone throwing the pooch from the overpass above Interstate 15 at 3900 South, said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Cameron Roden. One passerby retrieved the dog and took it to a veterinarian.

I hope this poor dog makes a full recovery and that the f’ing cretin that hurt her is found, fined and put under a jail. There are just some people that are too evil to be real, and this was one of them.

My Husky is never outside without me or my husband-we have a fenced yard and live in the country, but dognappers are a real problem out here-they steal purebred pooches they can catch from yards and then sell them-a neighbor on the next road had his Doberman stolen a few months ago, right in front of 2 other people. The dog was never returned, despite a hefty reward being offered.

My daughter has a young female Boxer she got from one of the no-kill animal shelters in the city-she was found wandering in a park with a collar but no tags-my daughter and her husband adopted her when they were at the shelter looking for a dog after their collie, which my daughter got as a puppy, died of old age-she is a wonderful dog, very playful and good with my daughter’s cats. She also barks whenever someone comes to the door or the gate-the Collie never did that.

Possibly even something relating to the dog. If he’s out during the day he may be a barker or he may get out of the yard and be a nuisance. Not that that excuses what the person did, but it’s hard to imagine someone went to the trouble to randomly steal a dog and throw it over an overpass.

Throw the jackass who did this over the same bridge and see how he fares.

I suspect you are right.

I rescued a cat once and posted signs looking for the owner. Four or five women called me looking for their cat that had been kidnapped by the ex-husband or ex-boyfriend.

God bless the person who took the time to rescue this dog. (”So shines a good deed in a weary world.”)
