This is true of “old Europe,” but what of Eastern Europe? Countries like Poland and Romania? Is there still hope there, or have they sold out their sovereignty and liberty in the name of economic expedience as well?

I don’t know, but those countries are not doing as well economically. I would think that they would therefore have fewer immigrants. Remember that Turkey is mostly Islamic, however, so I would expect that southeastern European countries would have some Islamic influence. That influence is long-standing rather than recent. It’s built in.
