If Mr. Obama did not know about Mr. Odinga's electoral deal with the Kenyan Islamists when he offered his support, then he should have known. If he did know, then he is guilty of lending the prestige of his office to America's enemies in the global war on terror. We need to know exactly what Mr. Obama knew about Mr. Odinga, and precisely when he knew it.
Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to
prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that
seemed delightfully uncalculated [...], Mr. Obama described the
call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at
sunset."

This article is the best I have found on the obama/kenya connection. Pinged you all, just this once.
Thanks for the ping!
Most of the world press is reporting that the war in Kenya is between President Kibakis Kikuyu tribe and Raila Odingas Luo tribe. That is what the world believes.
This is exactly what the man men currently sitting comfortably inside State house would like the world to believe.
This is just NOT TRUE. Some of he most violent protests in the country have come from Rift Valley and the tribe here are not Luos. They are Kalenjins. Most of the violence in Nairobi has been in slums where there is a mixture of different tribes from different parts of the country. The same can be said about Mombasa, Kenyas coastal town. In other words what we have in Kenya is a popular uprising against a rigged election where some people have taken advantage to settle scores related to ethnicity. Like the Kalenjins who have been opposed to Kikuyu settlement in their land that happened in the 60s supervised by Kenyas first president Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

Lol, scanning through KJ’s short posting history it becomes quite clear that KJ has the zeal of a BHO paid zombie.
You noticed that too? Some people, KingJaja is one, who shoot their mouths off sounding all knowledgable about a particular geographical area, yet they have a complete ignorance concerning the internationally strategic consequences of that particular situation we’re talking about. He can’t see the forest for the trees.
I personally am unconcerned about Kenya. I am dreadfully aware of the potentially dangerous consequences of an American president with tribal ties to a radical African Islamist who has signed an agreement with ME interests. That is the crux of this matter.
Thank you, Freddie, for the heads up! Fair dinkum to you, too.
King Jaja of Opobo (1821-1891)
Born in Igboland and sold as a slave to a Bonny trader at the age of twelve, he was named Jubo Jubogha by his first master. He was later sold to Chief Alali, the head of the Opubo Annie Pepple Royal House. Called Jaja by the British, this gifted and enterprising individual eventually became one of the most powerful men in the eastern Niger Delta...
...In addition, the discovery of quinine as the cure for malaria enabled the British traders to bypass the middlemen and deal directly with the palm oil producers, thus precipitating the decline of the city-states.
King Jaja's downfall ensured a victory for British supremacy, paving the way for the eventual imposition of the colonial system in this region by the end of the century. SOURCE.
makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up...retch and puke. He really really should have stood for election in an islamic country. I believe he has a huge following in Indonesia.
Thanks.
This is all interesting and news worthy.
Now, to seal the true importance, we must tie Immam Wright and CalypsoLouie to Odinga.

Bump!
Thanks for the ping.
The problem with Obama’s Kenya entanglements is that it’s unintelligible to 90% of America. Eyes glaze over. There’s no frame of reference for most people; the unfamiliar sounding names of people, places, tribes and parties defy the mental cataloguing necessary in order to follow the story. And I would dispute the article author’s contention that most of America is familiar with the massacres taking place in that country. If there is an awareness, it’s in the vaguest sense—one of those countries in Africa. Unrest. Slaughter. A world away, can’t keep ‘em straight, too bad, so sad, pass the TV Guide.
But articles like this are a start.

Thanks for the ping. How long will we have to wait before this hits the mainstream media....?

the burning of a church with up to 50 men, women, and children inside, while machete-armed mobs slaughter up to 600 more people, have evoked memories of the Rwandan genocide of 1994. Who is behind these massacres? ...those who have gone berserk are supporters of Mr. Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement, which is dominated by the rival Luo tribe. Whether Mr. Odinga has ordered his men to commit murder and arson is unclear. But his own background does not exactly suggest enthusiasm for democracy and the rule of law. Mr. Odinga's father, Oginga Odinga, led the Communist opposition during the Cold War and Raila Odinga was educated in Communist East Germany. Thanks Fred Nerks!
Thanks, Fred. The Sun really has become a terrific newspaper, and as much as conservatives worldwide love to hate the NY Times, I’d like to see them play up, honor and where possible quote and link to the NY Sun—for they are the perfect counterbalance.
