Arrant n nonsense. Willie Apiata VC was awarded his just before Christmas last year. He is very, very much alive.

Charles Upham VC with Bar was awarded the Victoria Cross TWICE in WW-II and lived to tell the tale. He died in the early 1990’s.

Technically speaking I’m still correct, since Willy Apiata has won the New Zealand version of the VC, which has been an independent award to the British VC since 1999. Beharry is the first British soldier since the 1960s to survive an action for which he was awarded the VC...
