Tehran - Iran has summoned the Dutch ambassador to protest about Fitna, the anti-Qur'an film produced by far-right MP Geert Wilders. Tehran recently asked European governments to ban the film. So far Pakistan has been the only country to summon a Dutch envoy over the film.
The controversy has prompted Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen to publish an article in the Arabic newspaper Asharq al-Awsat, calling on people "to keep their heads cool and relations warm". He also underlined the need for dialogue to explain that freedom of speech and religion are human rights enshrined in the Dutch constitution.
Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith has since joined worldwide condemnation of the film. On the Indonesian island of Java hundreds of Islamic students took to the streets of the city of Magelang to protest against the film. Indonesia's Minister for Social Affairs Bachtiar Chamsyah had previously called for demonstrations.

We all long for the times of Howard.
Even in America we miss John Howard!
Apparently some counrties do not want the truth to be shown. They must be afraid from within their own counrty because of certain ethnic populace.
Is Iran going to cut his head off?
How can you condemn the truth??
Jack
Islam is a cancer on mankind.
I don’t get it. The words used in the movie come right from the Koran, nobody is making anything up.
This is like Nazis protesting the showing of “Triumph of the Will” or “The Eternal Jew.”
Good job. We need an unoffical FR rule that all threads about Fitna have a link to the video. Like the Dowd/Zeta Jones rule, The Ann Coulter rule and Molesting teacher guilty/not guilty rule.
I don’t hear them condemning the violence committed by the death cult. That means that they approve of the violence.
Far right?... If Geert is considered far right them the perpective must be from ultra left..
UN Secretary General Criticizes Dutch Film
March 29, 2008
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon expressed his fear that the posting to the Internet of Dutch politician Geert Wilders Fitnaa film linking Islamist violence with passages from the Koranwould incite retribution.
Ban said that while freedom of speech sounds good in theory, its advocates are overlooking the risks. The Koran bids Muslims to spare unbelievers who submit and pay the jizya. But does Wilders acknowledge this option for peaceful coexistence with Islam? No. He one-sidedly focuses on the consequences to those who stubbornly reject this offer.
We must recognize that the real fault lies not with the Muslims, but with those who would place their values ahead of those of other cultures, Ban continued. The Wests failure to yield the right-of-way is responsible for the collision with Islam. The sooner we learn to comply, the safer we will all be.
Following the release of his film, several Islamic web sites have posted Wilders picture in hopes that someone may carry out Allahs command against this infidel. There have also been the usual street demonstrations in Muslim countries where mobs demand that Wilders be butchered.

The so-called worldwide condemnation is only from a few frightened government wimps who are in a position of leadership.
What is being condemned? Is there anything inaccurate in the film?
After seeing Fitna, my reaction was that it could just as easily have been produced by Muslims to justify their atrocities with Koranic passages.
Of course, if it was produced by Muslims, it would have been much less professional since they are incapable of making anything except crude bombs.
Condemn?
How, exactly?
If anyone here hasn’t watched ‘Fitna’, I’d strongly urge them to do so now. It’s available on YouTube.
As for the ‘movie’, it is simply a bunch of ACTUAL NEWS FOOTAGE from several years, with REAL QURANIC VERSES, woven together. That is all. If any fool condemns it, he/she is condemning the truth.
Do they have the Web in Iran?
Everything I need to know about islam I learned on 9-11-01.
Never Forget!
Islam and it’s quran are a death wish for all of humanity.
