To more completely understand the motivations behind one massive sector of the "Global Warming is Real! Dammit!" movement, please enjoy this message from Liberal Soccer Mom, Anywhere, U.S.A.:

People simply do not understand. It is important for us -- as U.S. Americans -- to make sure that Mr. Al Gore's self image is restored after he didn't get to be President back then. He looked so sad. Now, we have made it all better by making him President of Global Warming! He looks so much happier now! Big and jolly! And he got a Nobel Prize and an Oscar Prize, too, from people who wanted him to be happy, too!

Please don't be one of the denying people who will make Mr. Al Gore sad again. He deserves for us all to help him with Global Warming and not to be mean to him like before!

The End.

I’m quite well studied in the background of the Goron family.

The senior Goron was an honest politician. Once purchased by Armand Hammer, he stayed bought. Little Al doesn’t even have that much decency. All that Chinese money got them nothing.

Al is a functioning idiot. So stupid that with all his connections, he couldn’t get into the Council. They took his daughter though, just to keep him in line. If anyone in the Goron family is dangerous, It’s probably Karrena(?)

I loved the stories of how kind hearted Little Al would bring a sandwich out to their black maid after the family would stop for lunch.

There was a funny series of Little Al stories here back in the nineties, about him growing up a sturdy young cotton and tobacco farmer all the while living in the Excelsior Hotel in D.C.

As we all know, Al Gore is not a scientist and is therefore not qualified to make a determination as to the legitimacy of global warming. He makes an ass of himself every time he opens his mouth up about it.

I’m sure most here have seen the recent data that show tempertures have declined over the past 10 years in spite of the increase in carbon going into the air. Many scientists are saying this data is the beginning of the end for the global warming theory.

I have oftened wondered what really makes these people tick. Some have said that in a secular society the global warming cause has replaced religion as something to believe in. My own personal view is that this may be part of the cause, but for the calculating militant among them, global warming is simply a cause that can be be easily sold to the masses as something that poses a threat to mankind and therefore requires drastic action to “fix”.

I think global warming masks the true ideology, which consists of at least in part:

1) A general hatred of mankind in general - we are the cause of all known earthly problems;
2) Elevating animals to the level of humans, if not above;
3) The zealous and manic desire to preserve every last bit of environment on the planet, even at the expense of human lives/welfare.

All this with little or no thought given to any long term cost/benefit analysis. Yes, some environmentalists like to say something along the lines that we need to preserve anything and everthing because, who knows, in 500 years a microorganism that could be used in a pharmaceutical may be discovered in what could have been a lost species that could save mankind from extinction. Do you make decisions that will have immediate and potentially dramatic negative impacts on many people based on the hope that you MIGHT be protecting something that MIGHT some day in the distant future be useful?

I don’t think all of the people who believe global warming nonsense are like this, but the succes of the movement is driven by the zealousness of militant people like this who have to convince people who are less engaged. (not to mention the jobs/grants/ dependant on the theory’s success.)

A simple way, in my view, to determine the potential validity of an argument, like global warming, is to pay attention to how the parties conduct the argument. If you listen to global warming advocates, they essentially refuse to argue the science or have a reasonable debate about the facts. If you don’t agree with global warming alarmists, you are an idiot engaging blasphemy. Think about when you have an argument with a friend or co-worker- if they don’t have the facts or logic on their side and if there is alot at stake or pride gets in the way, they sometimes resort to the oldest fallacy in the book- ad hominen attack.

I have yet to hear a global warming advocate address the specific criticisms brought against the theory, particularly the most recent data. If you have, I would be very interested to know what they are.

Preaching to the choir I know.

He donated the $750,000 prize money to The Alliance for Climate Protection,
the non-profit he started to help him on his quest.

I can't believe they actually wrote that crap into the story.
As if he's honoring himself by donating to his own cause,
thus making it a legitimate cause. Freeking Scam!

Hey Gore, do you sell snake oil too?

We've just had one of the coldest winters in recent years in the US. Scientists are hopping OFF the global warming wagon calling it a political scam.
Gore has gone from being a national fool to an international fool.

... "She asks him his feelings on the Supreme Court ruling that handed his opponent, George W. Bush, the electoral votes of Florida and the presidency."

Her question should have been phrased, "How do you feel about the Supreme Court stopping the Florida Supreme court from helping you steal Florida's electoral votes and the presidency?"

According to those in the know, the Goron is still one of Oxy’s largest shareholders—no pun intended.

"You're talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat,” says Gore

Yeah, ha ha, or like those whackjobs who voted for Al Gore, who say the election was "stolen" and who think 9/11 was an "inside job."

Oh, wait, nevermind.

At the highest level, Global Warming is simply a facade to accomplish what all liberals want-power and control over people’s lives.

“No matter if the science is all phony, there are collateral environmental benefits.... Climate change [provides] the greatest chance to bring about justice and equality in the world.”

-Christine Stewart, Minister of the Environment of Canada
Recent quote from the Calgary Herald

Certainly agree with that. The quest for power and control is the defining characteristic of the left. Their arrogance allows them to believe that they know what is best for everyone and that, contrary to the events of recorded history, they can perfectly control futue outcomes based on their finely crafted liberal agenda.

All this under the guise of “justice”, “fairness”, and “equality” (of outcomes). Sounds good to alot of people (who typically wallow in self pity and victimhood) until they realize they have given up the one thing that is most precious- freedom.

Can’t believe that Stewart was so open about the environmentalists true agenda. Perhaps she sees the writing on the wall. I’m sure Gore and the rest are feverishly working on plan B. After all, the meaning of their existence is at stake.

I saw this tonight, 30 March 2008 Sunday.

Al Gore once flunked out of divinity school. He has found another God--the planet and global warming. His basic argument is there is no argument--if you don't agree you are an intellectual Neanderthal who does not deserve respect.

What strikes me about the whol global warming movement is the religious ferocity of its metaphysical convictions. There only empirical finding that has stood the test of time is the increase in carbon dioxide. I note a recent article Rising Temperatures Bring Their Own CO2where it is argued temperature always increases before CO2. The argument is a double edged sword since this finding is alleged to mean global warming is worse threat than if global warming followed CO2 increases.

I am sure there are thousands of articles now questioning the thesis and basis of global warming. What is surprising is that Al Gore deals with them by ridicule and ignoring any arguments to the contrary.

As far as the the two preachers--Pat Robertson and Al Sharpton--it must be remembered both have previously made outlandish weather and other claims. For Reverend Robertson it was the claim he turned away hurricanes. Just a little hop, skip and a jump to a new faith in mother earth as led by a former divinity student.

What seemed interesting is while the talk was supposed to be about global warming you could just hear Leslie Stahl hoping and wishing for a Gore presidential candidacy. He denied such interest with hesitation and care.

I think the Democrats and the MSM are worried about the mutual destruction of the Obama an Clinton candidacies. As I recall Gore was antiwar and so he could run on top and keep Obama. No doubt about it, from whatever angle no one is ready to commit political suicide for Hillary. The vultures are circling and hoping for better things and better days--Gore redux!
