Perfectly stated, Cicero! Real conservatives won’t vote for McCane under any circumstances. It’s something to be proud about, not ashamed of! Conservatives should unite to stop McCane. We can do it!
Yes. As I pointed out before the 2006 election, it was important for us to go out and vote for the real conservatives, like Rick Santorum and others whose positions were threatened. But I also pointed out that if Bush continued to screw the base, then no matter what we did, it wouldn't matter, because millions of ordinary conservatives would stay home after having been poked in the eye too often.
I personally went to the polls and voted, but as I feared, a lot of people did not.
It's the same now, yet even worse, since I don't think intelligent voters can afford to vote for McCain. He's just too bad to vote for. So the broad base of ordinary people will probably stay home again whatever anyone says, and local candidates will suffer.
I hope the more committed voters would at least go out and support their conservative politicians on the state and local level, or even send donations to good people in other states, but no question the good guys will pay the penalty for the RNC's stupidity, if we can't manage to get McCain out of the race, somehow or other.
The party thought they could make us swallow McCain by pointing to the opposition. But this time they just went too far. McCain is far, far worse than Bush or Dole. It will be suicidal if he stays in the race.
