Isn’t it possible that they’re our ally largely because we always side with them?
The US has been arming Egypt since 1979, and arming Jordan and the Saudis longer. At various times (including the present), the US has armed the PLO. If the US started arming Hamas and Al Qaeda, I think yes, at that point Israel might finally put its foot down and reconsider this whole ally business. Or at least I hope so.
So remind me again: how does the US always side with Israel? Aside from the part about arming Israel's enemies?
