We admit it. The Chronicle editorial board was disappointed when Hillary Rodham Clinton refused our invitation for a meeting before we endorsed a Democrat in the Feb. 5 presidential primary. But it really hurts to learn that not only did Clinton snub us, but Tuesday she also met with the editorial board of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. At the meeting, Clinton chatted up the paper's owner, Richard Mellon Scaife, the man who once served as the éminence grise/bankroller of what the then-first lady dubbed the "vast right-wing conspiracy."
It's true. Clinton is fighting desperately for a huge win in Pennsylvania, while not long ago she could take California voters for granted.

As long as California is in the tank for leftist politicians, they will be taken for granted. Such is life.
So this would be one for the record books.
Hillery moves further to the right then Juan McCain thus capturing the conservative vote.
Even the Repubs here are turning RINO. Ahnold is interested in more taxes now. It's time to get out.
That is pretty funny. According to hillary, Scaife was the boss of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. He's the guy who hired Chris Ruddy after the clintons got him fired, and published all those articles about Vince Foster, Ron Brown, and Whitewater.
Now Scaife is pulling a Rupert Murdoch, moving left and protecting his back against hillary in case she gets back into power. And I wouldn't count her out.
Nooooooooo.........another one joins the ranks in snubbing the Chronicle? For shame.
You may have just stumbled on something truly staggering.
That is, what if Hillary suddenly turned right-wing conservative? That is, doing something unheard of, trying to split *both* political parties at the same time?
Granted, it would be the hardest political sell of all time, in which she would have to run to the right of McCain, yet try to take as many Democrats as possible with her.
She would have to sign in blood to some very radical proposals, such as overturning Roe v. Wade, and building the wall with Mexico as first priority. And I have zero idea what she could use to sell an economic platform. Maybe quitting NAFTA and FTAA, who knows?
Eek. Like drinking a lot of cough syrup before listening to Art Bell at 3am.
