PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Linking the presence of undocumented workers to Rhode Islands financial woes, Gov. Don Carcieri signed an executive order that includes a series of steps to combat illegal immigration.
The order signed Thursday requires state agencies and companies that do business with the state to verify the legal status of employees. It also directs the Rhode Island State Police and prison and parole officials to more aggressively find and deport illegal immigrants.
The Republican governor said he understands that illegal immigrants face hardships but he does not want them in Rhode Island. "If youre here illegally, you shouldnt be here illegally. You shouldnt be here," Carcieri said.

Sounds like an ignorant buffon.

I did a refresh before posting the daily ping and this wasn't there. I did another refresh a little later and there it was...
Never Happen. Little Rhody... too many congenital liberals!
Ninety percent of the population works for the state.
Interesting Arnold can't seem to find that link in California.
When McCrazy has his amnesty there will be a lot more than Rhode Island hurting. All Americans in every state will be forced to pay taxes to the invaders and their families both here and abroad.
Excellent! A first step in the right direction.
It’s “only” about 45% state workers.
But the citizens are fed up. We had a nice little gathering at the State house wednesday over their plan to raise taxes by three hundred million. The legislature will try and do it anyway, but this time they may see the people’s teeth.
Illegals are killing the building trades especially. Not wise to anger the strong men. Better off angering the college professors and government clerks.
One can't find something if one is not looking for it!
Sounds like hateful, biases, racist, anti-Italian bigotry to me.
What’s a buffon? (I guess I’m ignorant too. ;)
I live near the Rhode Island border and pretty close to 95 so I see them all the time. Every beat up old construction van is full of them.
We’re heading over the economic cliff in a real hurry. The pirates in the legislature refuse to listen.
I’ll predict it will get rough here before too long. Rogue’s Islanders started the first American Revolution, they might well start the second.
If we can keep the federal government from granting amnesty it’s possible to deal with the illegal immigration issue state by state.
As illegals get pushed into more liberal “tolerant” areas, even their citizens begin demanding action as they become overwhelmed.
Maryland’s an example:

The feds seem content with the amnesty/open borders routine (rince and repeat) but it seems some states are at least listening and doing what they can.
Even if we do get another amnesty it’s good for the states to be working with ICE, enforcing hiring laws and limiting benefits as best they can. It’ll help keep the next generation of amnesty seekers from getting too comfortable.
I will be watching in rapt fascination. I pray that you are right in your optimism, but as a member of the clan....
I Doubt it!
How are we going to stop the Feral government from granting amnesty when all three democrat candidates are determined to ram it through?
Too bad there’s only one party running candidates this election.
We’re going to have to have fifty separate revolts.
Thank God for the courageous actions of this jarhead governor. I see our only hope against this illegal infestation as being in the courts and eventually the Supreme Court following Jorge’s devastating loss of his Mexican young woman killer international courts fiasco. The Executive and Congressional branches have far too corrupt to decline the votes and money from illegals.
Ping!
