A Hillary Clinton aide has ratcheted up the anti-Barack Obama rhetoric over his ties to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, comparing the Chicago pastor to white supremacist David Duke.
Niall ODowd, a member of Hillarys finance committee, gave an interview to RTE Radio in Ireland saying its legitimate to raise questions about Obamas relationship with Rev. Wright, whose sermons have included anti-American declarations and suggestions of conspiracies against African-Americans.
Its interesting that Barack Obama sat in the pews while all this was going on, and never once in any of his books or anything else did he denounce Wright, ODowd said, adding: He worshipped the man.
In the interview, which was reported by the Web site TPM Election Central, ODowd also said:
I think the issue that the Clinton campaign has seized on is that Barack Obama never once raised his voice to his pastor and said, I think your language is quite extreme here, and I think your language is probably wrong.
Because lets turn this around. If this was David Duke and he was preaching and Hillary Clinton was in the pew, there would be outrage about this.
And there cant be this double standard. Barack Obama has used race where it suited him, but when it doesnt suit him he backs away from it.
So I asked my heart doctor if it was safe for me to eat this much popcorn?
He smiles and says, “a republican, good.”
I think I’ll buy him a “Chaos” cap. ;>)
[DISCLAIMER: No live republicans were used in the making of this analogy.]
Man, this one is like a rabbit punch in the kidneys. What happens when Her Harpiness really gets mad?
LMAO, I hadn't even thought about that this whole time! Thanks for the reminder.
Token: "Jesse Jackson is NOT the emperor of Black people!"
Stan: "... He told my dad he was..."
Duke was more of a White Separatist and does not hate everything about the US or Western culture.
I agree. I’m really surprised she hasn’t.
Thanks! will do.
Poor younger Barack - he was so mixed up about his own identity. There must be a ton of biracial kids out there; I hope these days they aren’t all as messed up about “what” [notice I did not say “who”] they are. Let’s all go back to the content of people’s characters and try to forget what “tribe” they need to belong to.
As for Obama, I do not think he has YET come to terms with being black and white. He is not fit for the presidency.
I agree. Im tired of the excuse, “I was a young and confused black man, so please don’t take what I said literally.” Of course that’s disregarding his association with Wright and other radical thinkers. Can you imagine if McCain made similar statements during his youth? He would have been forced out of this election, if not the U.S. Senate.
Yep. The Grifter's only hope is to prove that BO is unelectable and to turn off enough moderate 'rats to him to get bigger vote totals in the primaries to make the "popular" vote claim. We are in for some serious entertainment over the next couple months...
Because, obviously, she needs the votes of Obama's supporters in the general election. What I advocate obviously will cut no ice with the likes of John McCain - but IMHO he has a sovereign remedy for the problems of this election campaign. All he needs to do is guarantee that Obama is the candidate, and that Obama's hatred of whites is fully exposed. And it is within McCain's power to do those things. If he nominated a black conservative to be his VP candidate:It may be objected that a black conservative would not have enough credentials for the job - but in addition to being constitutionally able to sit as POTUS, the Constitution mandates that the VP be chosen to have an identity which helps unify the country. This is what a black conservative VP candidate would do.
- It would be practically impossible for the Democratic superdelegates to vote against Obama.
- the VP candidate would model the difference between a black who is a patriot and a black who is a racist self-promoter.
- the VP candidate would be able to attack Obama in ways that a white Republican would not dare to do. And, lacking a strong resume himself, he would have every incentive to point out the thinness of Obama's own resume.
Wright is the black version of David Duke and deserves the same treatment that Duke has received.
On his new campaign plane, Obama said he has spoken with Wright in recent days and disputed any suggestion that he or his campaign have asked him to stay out of the limelight.
"I have talked to him," he said. "I haven't asked him to do anything."
Walter Williams: "For the nation and for black people, the first black president should be the caliber of a Jackie Robinson and Barack Obama is not. Barack Obama has charisma and charm but in terms of character, values and understanding, he is no Jackie Robinson. By now, many Americans have heard the racist and anti-American tirades of Obama's minister and spiritual counselor. There's no way that Obama could have been a 20-year member of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church and not been aware of his statements."
Thomas Sowell: "It is painful to watch defenders of Barack Obama tying themselves into knots trying to evade the obvious. Some are saying that Senator Obama cannot be held responsible for what his pastor, Jeremiah Wright, said. In their version of events, Barack Obama just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong timeand a bunch of mean-spirited people are trying to make something out of it."
Hussein Obamas racist pseudo minister has turned the Dems' run for President into party's train wreck!
Devastatingly, Shelby Steele writes: Obama has fellow-traveled with a hate-filled, anti-American black nationalism all his adult life, failing to stand and challenge an ideology that would have no place for his own (white) mother."
Just What Did Obama Know About Wright's Past Sermons? (Plenty)
Barack Obama either agreed with what was preached from the Trinity pulpit, or he tuned it out and stayed around pretending to for political reasons. To say he stayed for 20 years but doesn't agree with Wright's preaching is incredible denial. It'd be like a man buying White Sox season tickets for 20 years, attending the games, and saying he's not a fan.
Obamas supporters want us to ignore this story just push it under the rug. While theyll align Republicans with any obscure pastor who does or says something controversial, theyre trying to convince us that Obamas 20-year long close relationship with Wright, including his effective endorsement of him, his church and rhetoric with a $22,500 donation in 2006 is irrelevant.
When Obama decided against wearing an American flag pin, we may all have been a bit too quick to accept his rationale, too quick to find that issue unimportant. Now, that American flag pin has gotten a lot bigger for a lot of us, especially in light of what may have been and may still be Obamas deeper, and, perhaps, secret, less than patriotic beliefs about America.
Wright says that blacks cant be expected to sing God Bless America because of racism. Obama doesnt salute the flag during the National Anthem. That sure strikes me as an amazing coincidence since Obama swears he never heard Wright say anything against America.
Here is the link to the Star Spangled Banner video with obama standing there without his hand over his heart...
Notice her ear ring!
they must have decided in the Clinton camp to even bother anymore with the black vote and try to increase their strength amongst the white Dems. If the strategery doesn't work they will have damaged Obama further with blue collar Dems and moderate voters.
