I’m in Missouri so I can’t make it. I sent Diamondhead a regular E mail so he should check in tonight or tomorrow.
Hey, Patty! Sorry I won’t be able to help. I’m in recovery mode from a bit of a health problem, and not up to a day of protest, just yet.
I am so glad to hear you are still kicking, even if you are in recovery. Keep up the good fight!
Hope to see you in the future, and hope Mrs. Diamondhead is okay.
Cheers!

I got a police permit to counter demonstrate for the honor of our troops in Porterville (Saturday, March 29, between 4:30 and 5:00 pm) corner of Prospect and Henderson near the Walmart.
If you know anyone willing to come tomorrow, please ask them. Otherwise, it’ll be just me and Mom out there supporting our soldiers and the global war on terror.
It’s definitely on for tomorrow, Saturday, March 29 at 4:30-5:00 pm in Porterville at the corner of Prospect and Henderson near the Walmart.
I got a police permit to counter demonstrate against the South Valley Peace Center and the group organizer, Harold W. Warner.
Jk called and talked to a friend of his at the Tulare PD and found that they don't need a permit as long as they keep moving, but they appreciated the heads up and will patrol the area here to make sure the peaceniks stay nice and peaceful and obey the law.
I wish there was some way we could be out there supporting our troops, but have a previous commitment to photograph a bunch of softball teams tomorrow.
Yeah, they like to sneak in and catch us awares until the last moment. And my friends are working or have family commitments, and not able to make last minute shifts in plans.
It’ll be interesting.
AFTER ACTION REPORT.
Picked up the police permit for our counter demonstration yesterday, which had an alert attached to it about an extra patrol that would keep watch over us.
Called several people and found out the other lady in town who does care packages for the local Republican women’s club was already planning on showing up. She had read the news report and was spitting mad. I told her I had gotten a permit.
My Mom wanted to go, and we had to get her ready as well as make signs. And get out the wheelchair, a folding chair and a portable stool for all us cripples to sit on.
Glad we had made the effort. The “South Valley Peace Center” had about 20-25 people show up. We had 10. The other care package lady had 4 others that showed for her, including her husband; and hubby, me, Mom and our friends, the Lopez’s, made up the other 5. Mr. Lopez came with his Bush/Cheney cap on. LOL!
We had signs and 8x12” flags:
4000 American HEROES deserve HONOR not EXPLOITATION by “Peace” Group from Visalia
APPEASEMENT NEVER BRINGS PEACE (”Peace through Strength” — Ronald Reagan)
THE SURGE IS WORKING. Thank you! Army Marines Airforce Navy Coast Guard. U.S. Service Men and Women are the Best!
PORTERVILLE WILL NEVER CUT AND RUN
AL QAIDA is EVIL. AL QAIDA in IRAQ is VERY EVIL.
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

I wore the black T-shirt that Juan (Company A, 4-23, 172nd SBCT) sent me last year with the back having their mascot emblem (skullhead with Indian bonnet) on it with
“OIF 2004-2006
Mosul Rawah Baghdad
“Strike Fear”
Half the crowd on the other side of the street looked like pony tailed dopers and most of the rest looked like twits or hired illegals who looked like they needed some good meals. There were only a couple of normal looking people on the other side. They had half a dozen huge American flags as well as their signs (which were hard to read from our corner which was kitty corner to theirs) which mostly celebrated 4005 deaths in Iraq and the cost of the war in dollars.
They got some horn honks (possibly from people who didn’t realize they were against the war), but we got at least three times more. The police cruised by half a dozen times.
Then we had a ‘who’s gonna leave first’ bit of jockeying just after 5 pm, and then we all kind of broke up and packed up to go home. In the parking lot as we were loading our trunks, the reporter from the local paper who had obliged the peaceniks (AKA Marxists) with 3 columns of their propaganda on Thursday wandered up and asked who she could speak to. Lucky for me the other care package lady stepped up and I was able to escape. I expect the reporterette was smoozing with the peaceniks during the half hour demonstration.
And that’s mostly it.
Way to go, Porterville!
:-)
Bump!
Thank you all for standing up.
Well, I’m sorry I could not have been there. If there is any more of these protests in the future, give me a ping.
