That is a slippery slope. I stopped asking myself why God might do this or that long ago. God does what he does because He is God. He, and He alone, defines what is right and what is good.
This is a hypothetical discussion about whether or not God may offer salvation to a Jew or a Hindu. Certainly God may.
But, if the hypothetical is directly answered in scripture, as quoted previously, one must choose on the side of scripture. This assumes, of course, that you accept the premise of Sola Scriptura, and recognize it's divine inspiration.
