'Misspoke' is rapidly on it's way out the door as a fake excuse for minor hyperbole on one end of the extreme and out and out lying on the other. The archive capability of today's technology means that your past sins, real or "misspoke" are there for all the world to see. Every action, every word, every printed stated or thought is accessible as a cross reference against current ones. It shouldn't be a danger to anyone who's memory matches their actions. It's a huge danger for those whose memory about their actions are made up to suit the moment or their target constituency..
The current crop of politicians still doesn't get that they aren't talking to a population who laughs in the evening watching one of three major networks after they get off from work at GM while waiting for the little woman to finish dinner. I honestly think they believe that their Awareness IQ (like Emotional IQ only smarter) of the voting populace is somewhere between 80 and tepid water. Watching Hillary two step over her Iraq runway narrow escape reminded me of her husband saying "I did not have sex with that woman"...

Well, call me crazy, but “mis-spoke” is a far cry from an out and out lie. If she had actually gone into a place - any place - that there had been sniper fire, then she could have said she was mistaken about the location. Kind of like if I was surfing and a shark bit my board and I said it was in Hawaii but it was actually in Australia, then fine. But if I don’t surf at all, then I surely didn’t misspeak! I lied!
Hildabeast must be seriously naive about 21st century communications, e.g. I’ve seen 3 separate videos of the same Bosnia speech in 3 separate locations while she’s wearing 3 different outfits. I’m sure there are more instances of this bold-face lying.
He hee, the author "misspeaks". It was the Bosnian runway on which Hillary claimed she had her harrowing adventure avoiding sniper fire.
People claim that Roger Clemens lied to Congress. the nature of the questioning was “in ‘that conversation’ that you had in 2000 or 2001, did you discuss HGH?”. In WHICH conversation, the one in 2000 or the one in 2001? The question was itself false.
Back in the 1990s Alain Prost was on French television making putative death threats against his teammate Ayrton Senna (who reciprocated, of course.) When called on it, he said “I was misquoted.” He never figured out that he wasn’t quoted at all — WE SAW HIM SAYING THOSE THINGS.
Hillary seems to have the same problem. If she shuts her eyes, we can’t see her.....
Land Shark!
I agree. Clinton's depiction of her arrival in Bosnia is pure fantasy, a war story fabricated to tout her experience and bravery I suppose. But it is a lie, a very stupid and unnecessary lie and is extremely damaging to her campaign.
Quite right, what John McCain did in Iraq was to "misspeak" (and it was corrected immediately) -What clinton did was to repetitively tell a BOLD FACED LIE.
And then she lied about telling the lie.
And then she lied about that excuse too!
Lying comes as easily to a Clinton as breathing does to the rest of us.
He didn't. What he did was say something in the clear. Probably got confused with his new Straight Talk campaign.
“Mis-speaking” is when you absentmindedly refer to Barney Frank as “BarneyFag.”
Mrs. Clinton rehearsed the “sniper” snippet after somebody probably wrote it for her. Nothing that comes out of her mouth is unplanned.
Memo to Hillary: Liar, liar, pantsuit on fire!
She may not ACTUALLY be lying but, rather, downright delusional and DIS-connected from the reality that any other normal observer would perceive)...
I haven’t seen that definition. Misspoke to me implies some kind of error (other than the error of thinking the American public is stupid). What Hillary said was calculated and probably rehearsed.
She lied and then lied about lying by suggesting it was an innocent error.
