Have you been active over at Democratic Underground? They would love your message over there.
Your view is akin to a guy losing his girlfriend and out of spite to her deciding to date her brother instead.
The last thing McCain needs to do is pick Willard as his running mate.
NO more liberals!
Well true, and my point was just concerning the level of excitement surrounding the candidates. Dole is a good man, his candidacy never generated any excitement and I see the same thing with McCain. The weird thing is, McCain has a chance to win, by default I suppose.
Hardly.
While my post is certainly hyperbole, just because the GOP puts sh!t on a plate, I don’t have to eat it.
Would you rather see Lieberman, who is my bet on who McCain is leaning towards?
Careful, everybody. Ari-freedom, Tennessee Nana, fieldmarshaldj & Co. will be along shortly denouncing this choice and declaring (yet again) that if McCain chooses Romney, they most definitively will not be voting for him.
This is a pretty funny thread... quite the deja vu... nobody is good enough, nobody is conservative enough... if we make enough noise and keep up the whining maybe conservatives can be just as effective as they were in picking the presidential nominee. ;-)
VICE PRESIDENT ROMNEY
Hey, McCain COULD do worse.
Like Vice President Kerry.
That’s what worries me most: He has a senior moment and
picks Kerry!
Why the heck would any conservative be happy with a slimeball phony like Mitt?
Only a tiny handful of conservatives bought Mitt's act before the anti-McCain brigade finally jumped into his limo, holding their noses.
Note that it took several days of discussion among top lawyers and former FEC commissioners to figure out whether it was even possible to opt out of the public financing system after opting in and qualifying for funds. No one's ever done that. And therefore, no one's ever opted back in, after opting out, after opting in. And therefore, no one's ever borrowed on the basis of a promise to opt back in, after opting out, after opting in.
IOW, they are idiots, but that is beside the point. I am guessing since McCain helped write the crappy Fed. Fincancing boondogle he also knows how to work the system to his advantage through loopholes he knows are there.
It's too bad really. Romney knocked McCain and Guliani out of the race by bankrupting them finaincially in Iowa in April 2007. Then Amnesty hit soon after. McCain did his shady loan money games and stayed a float long enough for Amnesty to blow over. Romney (the best Capitalist in North America) coulnd't beat the Socialist System subsidized by our tax dollars.
I like Romney but even if he is McCain's VP pick, McCain ain't getting a cent of my money since he has already used it (i.e. taxation without representation to subsidize his federal funding loan)
Anyway that is the best sense I can make of it though I feel like I am missing something. If anyone can explain it better than I can please feel free.
The article discusses the opting in and out issues more in depth. Warning - I apologize in advance it is from a liberal site. But finding good Pubbie articles on the issue are pretty scarce now that Mccain is "the chosen one". If anyone has some counservative articles that explain it better please pass them along.
In my book, there is no difference between Lieberman and Romney. Both are big government, northeast liberals. At least Joe admits to being a liberal. Romney is a born liar on most issues relevant to conservatives. Either choice would be hard to stomach.
It appears the Romneybots have descended to new depths of derangement since Mitt was thrashed on Super Tuesday.
Rush just suggested chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission Chris Cox or Governor Bobby Jindal.
He said that McCain needs a young, true conservative, not another moderate.
I knew when I posted it that eventually the Romney haters would show up and start pulling their hair out over him chumming with McCain.
I believe we could do a lot worse than Romney myself. I would actually be happier if they switched and Romney took the lead, but we all know that is just a pipe dream now.
You know... if he just said y’all a few more times and blathered on about the war of northern aggression... (now ducking, incoming I’m sure) ;-)
Romney is a sneaky liberal BS artist, and God does not live on KOLOB.
Not me. I’ve resigned myself to the reality of our situation. Better luck next time.
Plus considering McCain’s age, the VP nomination may be very important.
LOL!
