SACRAMENTO - California's political watchdog agency has filed a $9 million lawsuit against state Senator Carole Migden, accusing the San Francisco Democrat of consistent and deliberate violations of the state's campaign finance laws. The federal lawsuit was filed Tuesday by the Fair Political Practices Commission in Sacramento.
It is a response to a lawsuit filed earlier this month by Migden. In that action, Migden challenged the agency's refusal to let her use $647,000 that she raised while she was in the state Assembly.

Can anyone here on FR give us a definitive explanation of just how much politicians can use money that is raised for their campaigns????
Friend of Pelosi?
They’ll be waiting a long time.
Here is the link to the FPPC site that may help shed some light..

In California, the rules don't apply to liberal lezzos, unfortunately.
Sweet!
Couldn’t happen to a nicer gal! ;-)
“consistent and deliberate violations of the state’s ...laws”
In other words, a crook
Why would you say that? Or is it just knee-jerk California bashing? Read the story again. She was slapped with a $350,000 fine and is facing a $9 million federal lawsuit that the state now has no say over. I'd say she's getting an ass whooping.
I'll say she got an ass whooping when it's actually been shown that she had to pay.
Watch what happens when the spotlight is off of her. I suspect this will all fade away into the night when the cameras point in another direction.
I hope as much as you that she'll be made to pay, but she's a protected class - female, liberal, and lezzo.
Don't get me wrong, babe. I'm on your side. I've just seen this song and dance too many times to be hopeful.
And today's Republicans are the most ball-deficient bunch I've ever seen. They're all feeding from the same trough. To call attention to the Democrats' crimes is the same thing as calling attention to theirs.
It pains me to admit it, but they're all crooks.
While we conservative, male lezzos get no protection whatsoever.
Retired Senator Ross Johnson was one of the “Proposition 13 Babies” elected to the Assembly in 1978 as part of the statewide Howard Jarvis taxpayer revolt. He’s a far cry from one of “today’s Republicans.”
I’m down on my (mental) knees praying that what you say is true.
I can assure you that many are not. Quite a few are close personal friends of mine. The ones I know and like are the ones who are in it for all the right reasons and have made huge personal sacrifices to serve. Honest.
....who will be re-elected in a landslide by the shameless Democrats of San Fransicko.
I think you are right..........for now.
I believe that your friends are true blue Republicans......for now.
The system in place has a way of setting them straight to the business of politics......play our way or we won't support your reelection.
I hate it with every fiber of my being, because the way of the entrenched is HORRIBLE for the average American. You and I both know it.
Most of our populace wants to be taken care of, and Republicanism cannot survive with such a populace.
I Hope Hope Hope your Republicans can withstand the Powers that Be.
To quote Sheriff Bart in "Blazing Saddles" ...."Keep the Faith...."
Meanwhile we voters find ourselves frequently quoting Taggart when we see the kind of crap they pull in office:
"What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is a-goin' on here?! I hired you people to try to git a little track laid, not to jump around like a bunch of Kansas City faggots!"
