Are the hookers still cheap?

In the moral context?  Of course, and by definition.

In the pecuniary context?  I wouldn't know....

(no, really I wouldn't)

I work for the utility that built the toilets, and some Chinese co-workers of mine were chosen as the voices for some automatic messages that the toilets played. I guess that was the equivalent of their 15 minutes of fame.

Have they got these in CA? I find the liberal leftists RATS of the west side of the Cascades that control the politics and resources of the state forever modeling themselves after CA, even down to the shi**y ideas.

Hire the homeless to attend and clean public toilets.

They have a handful of these in Boston and of the one I used the reality was this:

When you first walk in just after someone else used the "facility" the first thing you have to do (if you're a guy taking a dump or a woman doing whatever) is make sure that your clothes don't touch the floor because after each use of the "facility' it does a complete jacuzzi-like hose down of the floor. This process ineveitably splashes all over the place so that if you are going to use the toilet seat you have to wipe it down. You have the "apartment" for 20 minutes after which you hear a warning that in five minutes the door will open. It had a funky single muzak-like tune that you eventually find yourself humming too if you stay long enough (I had to take a dump).

When I used this "apartment" I thought how counter-productive the unit was. Resources-wise it's a global warming zealot's nightmare with it's hosedown features that seem to presume that the person before was contagious with what not while the water use to clean was completely unnecessary.

When in Boston it was obvious to me of the lack of public facilities but this is plain overkill. Other than for someone with a handicap issue(s) the general public would settle for your standard port-a-potty where each stall is twice the size and the drop zone is not neceassarily right into a open vat of sewage.

"They could have had a full time employee on each toilet cleaning them after every use for less..."

I know the woman who was assigned to kind of patrol the toilets. She feared for her safety; the drug dealers did not appreciate her presence.

I am reminded of the Simpsons in Japan, where the toilet declares “I am pleased to accept your waste”

Yeesh! L0L

Everyone is missing the point. Some city officials are going to retire with millions in the Caymans because of corrupt sweetheart deals like 1 million dollar toilets. Now THAT’S what’s REALLY important.

Suggest you stay out of Indian toilets...

$250,000 in toilet removal costs.

$50K a piece just to remove the toilets? I'd do it for half that! Man, I should be in the toilet removing business. I could remove one toilet a month and have a very comfortable lifestyle!

You can add the latest scam. Seattle put in 12 or so red light cameras, and made 1,000,000 dollars a year. Hey lets save some more pedestrians lives and add 20 more. Yeah and lets shorten up the yellow time from 3 seconds to 2 seconds.

Make the drivers convert to buses, and that will allow the City Politicians and City employees to use their SUV’s with less traffic.

That's the plan, get us out of our cars and then all those in power will have plenty of room on the roads to drive their V-8s. No wonder traffic congestion is at the bottom of WDOT's to do list.

As far as the toilets, all of us who possess common sense knew what was going to happen and it did. More money wasted.

Didn’t they also build a hotel for alcoholic bums?

Convert into voting booths?

Nawww. Everybody knows that in Seattle coffins are voting booths and funeral homes are polling places.

I can’t fathom just how completely stupid someone would have to be to have not known that this was a TERRIBLE IDEA and a complete waste of money.

The few remaining sane people in Seattle did indeed know exactly what was going to happen, and made as much noise as they could at the time.

Sadly, there haven't been enough of us here for quite some time.

"sigh"
