It was a “minor blip” ???

“...You know, I think that, a minor blip, you know, if I said something that, you know, I say a lot of things - millions of words a day - so if I misspoke, that was just a misstatement,” she said.
...”

Millions of words a day? Or is that yet another “misstatement”?

I don't think she lied. It would be too easy to check, as has happened.

I think it was worse than that. She misremembered due to fatigue. Why is that worse? I'd rather have a clear-thinking Machiavellian with her finger on the nuclear button than an immature sleep-deprived senior trying to prove something by not resting properly.

Bill was famous for his college dorm style all-nighters. Jimmuh similarly seemed to think that workaholism was a moral substitute for actual success.

The Gipper slept 11 hours a night when he was governor of California, and slept 8-9 in the White House. He'd walk out of important meetings at 5 PM, put on his jammies, and read until he fell asleep. Then he'd make historically great decisions with a well-rested mind.

After the story has been out for several months the MSM is finally, reluctantly beginning to report it.

Hillary and Obama are going down so far Kucinich is looking good.

...and even McCain is starting to look good.

I found that interesting too. I was working this morning with the news droning in the background, and they hammered Hil on this over and over in a most heavy-handed way.

I can only think that the MSM is pro-Obama, and this was a tactic to switch the conversation from his anti-Americanism.

From the News conference in Greensburg, PA

Hillary “brought up the human rights issue with Chinese leaders” several times?

She paused as she made this statement and one could get the sense of her trying to catch herself before telling another fib.

Can we get some background on this?

Who were these journalists? Do they know what a follow up question is?

Need to be asked;

“With which Chinese leaders did you bring up the issue of human rights, Senator?”

“When did you bring up these issues of human rights with the Chinese leadership?”

What is it with American Presidents and presidential hopefuls? Vice-presidents and their hopefuls too: did they all have Pinocchio as a common ancestor?

In no particular order, in my lifetime there has been Nixon, Gore, Kerry, HillBilly, and now Billary. All of them telling porkies. Big ones. All of them found out. Did I forget any others?

Yes I guess even Reagan probably told a fib or two around Iran-Contra. “Plausible deniability” really is only just a nice way of saying “lying convincingly”.

But this is surely a disturbing trend, when the Truth is such an easy thing to establish in this day and age. How long did it take for the Bosnia thing to bite Billary in the bum? Couple days max?

Did George Washington *really* ‘fess up to chopping down the apple tree? I guess that’s actually two questions: did he do it and ‘fess up truthfully (in which case he set and example that few Presidents seem to be following these days)or was the whole incident merely another that posterity has bought into?

Why is Spin more important than Truthfulness to these people?

Remember, its not the seriousness of the allegations that matters, its the truth of the reporting that's of utmost concern. So a delay of several months to a correction of misspeaking the veracity of a report is the prudent thing to do.

Just look at how diligent the media is being concerning reporting of the allegations made by Peter Paul.

True, but I wonder how long before they realize that Obama can't win in November and throw him overboard for a draft Gore movement.

Although some have explained this as media prudence in light of the fact that candidates won't give interviews if they feel a network has been negative in their reporting, I believe, in the end, CBS ran the story because they were forced by the blogosphere to run the story.

I certainly agree with that statement.
I sent an e- mail to some of my friends yesterday about this.

I entitled it "Piling On."

Here is the e- mail: Now that the Internet has fully exposed Hillary's lie, CBS, who would be happy to bury the story, decides to get in on the kill. - Tom

I would love that. Gore is even nuttier than McCain and would be prone to flaming out in a most entertaining way.
