The Texas Department of Transportation's request for a 30-day extension of the public comment period for the Interstate-69/Trans-Texas Corridor Tier One Draft Environmental Impact Statement has been granted. The request was approved by the Federal Highway Administration which oversees the environmental review process for transportation projects.

TxDOT has held over 500 meetings on the Trans-Texas Corridor including 254 county meetings, 95 environmental meetings and hearings on I-69/TTC, 171 environmental meetings and hearings on TTC-35, and 12 town hall meetings.

The public comment period opened in December, and an extension through April 18th allows more citizens the opportunity to express their views regarding I-69/Trans-Texas Corridor. TxDOT has already received over 14,000 comments regarding I-69/TTC.

Although no additional public hearings are scheduled, Texans can submit comments online or mail them to I-69/TTC, P.O. Box 14428, Austin, TX 78761.

Why would public meetings be held regarding something that President Bush and others keep telling us doesn’t exist and won’t exist?

I-69 was part of the public record before Bush became president and before he became governor of Texas.

Therein lies the problem for the lunatic fringe who say Bush is building I-69 as part of the NAU.

The idea for the NAU came to be long before Bush took office.

Who started it? Reagan and his bi-lateral trade agreements? Or Wilson?

I’m sure it was in the mix back then. This isn’t the kind of thing that can be accomplished in a less than decade. 41 probably was pushing for it too. He used to do a lot of talking about the New World Order.

A lot of people mistake the US's hegemony/suzerainty over Canada and Mexico as a NAU.

Its amazing what undeveloped nations will consent to on the possibility of capital inflows and access to US markets.

I don’t think access to US markets is the main attraction. The open borders permits the flow of cheap labor back and forth as the need arises. The collapse of national sovereignty is already accepted as necessary by most globalists. They don’t seem to have any problems with socialism either.

A Republic? Oh well what the hell. It was fun while it lasted.

"flow of cheap labor"

Really, call your elected representative and tell him you want some flow of regulated labor.

"They don't seem to have any problems with socialism either"

A lot of people like to invoke that socialism word. It looks to me that even the modern day social democrats adhere to/believe in a capital market economy. In fact, it appears the only group opposed to a market economy is the right wing populist movement in the US, who like to call themselves "true conservatives and real Americans".

I notice you didn’t mention anything about the collapse of national sovereignty.

Have a nice day Quisling.

Which is the biggest threat, these exaggerated claims of a loss of sovereignty, or the GOP’s Real ID.

Equal danger. Loss of sovereignty crushes the independence of the government and GOP’s Real ID crushes the independence of the people.

Considering SPP, which is most threatened by a loss of sovereignty, Canada, Mexico, or the US.
