As part of his probation, LeRoy Schad, 72, must have signs on his Hudson, Kan., home. He also has to put a sign on his car when he goes to counseling.

"I know that I deserve something for that, but I don't think I deserve what I got," he said. He's absolutely right.
He deserves a bath in sulfuric acid, not this sign nonsense.

He should be posting signs outside a jail cell, not a house.

I hate when judges get cute with their punishments. If he’s such a danger to the community that he needs a warning label everywhere he goes, the man belongs in jail. He committed sexual offenses against two children... that’s not worthy of jail time? Idiotic.
To: ShadowDancer
IMHO LeRoy Schad ought to be in jail. It would safer for the children & safer for him if he was in jail. If you do the crime then do the time. I don’t see where signs are going to do much but stir angry people up. And you can’t blame people for being angry.

Lose your balls, lose the signs. Fair trade-off.

Here’s a thought: how about a sign around his neck when they hang him?
To: ShadowDancer
This is ridiculous. If he’s a danger to the community he should be locked up, and if he isn’t then the state has no business making him a target for vigilantes.

That’s wrong! It only hurts the innocent neighbors whose property value now will plummet and they’ll never be able to sell their home to get away from the pervert.

The signs went up a few months ago. Schad said the loneliness and isolation imposed by the house arrest are the toughest to deal with. "It's been pure hell," said Schad, who has lived in the town since 1971.
Ummm... you CHOSE to molest those children. You CHOSE your punishment. If you don't like it, violate your conditions and go to prison with Bubba... he likes your type...

72? There are some on FR who think he should be excused because he would be too old to know better.

If he’s that dangerous, just keep him in jail. This Orwellian BS sets a bad precedent that could end up being used for other crimes.
