Maybe it's just me but I don't see a smoking gun here. There's a lot of innuendo and "let me translate that for you" into something more damning... but his actual words aren't that strong in condemnation of Israel. I agree you can infer a lot from his words... but that's not going to play out easily with the public.

By the way, I served in the USAF under this piece of excrement... don't think in any way that I will ever defend him or his views.

"I don't think increasing the troops helps us get our foot out of the trap--it just puts 20,000 more targets on the ground. ... My going-in strategy would be to disengage, not on a known timetable because it gives too many options to the enemy, but set a course for disengagement out of there, knowing full what will follow will be a disaster. But there is going to be a disaster anyway."

-- Ret. Gen. Merrill A. McPeak, former USAF Chief of Staff (Regretfully), Southern Oregon Mail Tribune, 1/10/2007

Obama has never been in the US Milatry and is ignorant about it. He would be like Granny Goose trying to lead the country with his experience.

I too, knew this individual personally while in the USAF.
He is one of the most egotistical a$$holes I've ever met!
Not particularly competent either; I have no idea how he ever became the four-star when I knew him, and can only figure he had political connections to become chief of staff. Once there, his most pressing issue to address was our uniforms: he wanted us to look like airline pilots with British rank insignia! This was right after the first Gulf War, and most could think of much more important things to do.
Fellow officers, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a law prohibiting us from using our rank and military status for political purposes both while on active duty AND for a significant period after retirement? It just galls me to see the SOB using is rank and former position in those Obama commercials!

McPeak's type is well known in the military -- career, but with political ambitions afterwards. Which party they align with is irrelevant. Since the 1970's, only the most incompetent gravitate towards the Dems -- all the good officers want to align themselves with the party that supports the military and that ain't the Dems. So we see the spectacle of the Wes Clarks and this clown, toadying to the most revolting liberals imaginable.

If Barney Frank were leading the Democrat Presidential race, this nitwit would be sniffing his jockstrap.
