Murder weapons can be gotten rid of and it fouls up any prosecutions because the defense lawyer has all kinds of legal ground to throw out the evidence. It's not about getting prosecutions of murderers.
It's about subjugating otherwise free citizens.

It's not about getting prosecutions of murderers. It's about subjugating otherwise free citizens. I understand fully but it also fouls up prosecutions in actual criminal cases. A smart criminal could use this as a way to destroy evidence.
Its dumb on soooo many fronts.
