Bill Clinton has a rule about lying like this. In a book I read on Clinton, he was quoted as saying "never, ever lie about little things. The details will bury you and the lie will be discovered. Lie only about huge, grand accomplishments. In doing so you will make anyone looking for details look petty and vendictive."

Now Hillary should have lied by claiming she was in the rural countryside with her entourage and came under sniper fire. Then she dragged Chelsea into a Bradley armoured vehicle, all the while returning fire from an M-16 she pryed from the hands of a marine escort who had been killed. Her return fire allowed the entourage to escape the kill zone.

Now that's a lie that would work...............

...and the only reason we haven't heard either of those stories is because the ever-modest Hillary didn't want to have to endure the never-ending crush of adoring autograph-seekers, or overshadow the thrilling news announcements of Bill's glorious White House achievements.
