Richardson: Clinton aides in the 'gutter'
UPI ^ | March 23, 2008

WASHINGTON, March 23 (UPI) -- New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said Sunday aides to U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., use "gutter" politics to get their way.

The former candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination was compared by one Clinton adviser to Judas this week following his voiced support of Clinton's rival, U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., The Washington Post reported.

"I'm not going to get in the gutter like that," Richardson said of the comments from informal Clinton adviser James Carville. "And you know, that's typical of many of the people around Senator Clinton. They think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency."

Richardson has been critical of the ongoing fight for the Democratic nomination, but his scorn of such tactics has primarily been aimed at Clinton's camp.

"The campaign has gotten too negative," he said of the electoral battle.

"I just feel the time has come to come together behind a candidate."

Richardson is such a dope. Just a dumb jock who never would have advanced past dog catcher were it not for Democrat ethnic quotas.

Richardson never had any chance of becoming President. He’s too much of a mediocrity—the only thing he had going was being part-Hispanic. If he helps Obama with Hispanics, he might get yet another second-tier cabinet secretaryship, or appointment as ambassador to some country...provided he apologizes to Obama for putting his hand on his chest during the playing of the national anthem.

Hillary made a mistake by allowing the Obama camp to control the agenda.

Instead of forcefully articulating her agenda and what she would do down to the minutae, which is what she would have to do to prevent his “me too” routine, she allowed the media and Obama to have this devolve into a racial contest.

In order to pull it out now, she needs to turn the campaign into one of concrete ideas: this is what we will do for the economy, for wall street, for infrastructure, etc. and not just soundbites but actual WORKABLE ideas, not ideology.

She needs to put all her cards on the table now, because she doesn’t have a choice. It is either this or just continue to fade.

If she can’t do it. She’s toast.

Entitlement mentality - it comes from the top.

notice how the ‘rats ACKNOWLEDGE this.

Hmmm...

“They think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency.” - Richardson

Only this time, they are whining about it.

There’s popularly-referenced op-ed to be easily written up, in here... You can send me a portion of the royalties later. - thx

It's comical to hear Richardson dissing Hillary now. When he spoke at the Jackson/Jefferson dinner he was praising Hillary and crowning her Queen. Said little about his own campaign. That's why I thought he would be Hillary's VP.

Wonder what happened to send him sucking up to Obama?

Here’s a stroll down Richardson’s personal gutter.

Richardson, U.N. Mission Subpoenaed On Lewinsky Job Offer

Washington (CNN, Jan. 23,1998) — Whitewater Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr has issued subpoenas for documents to U.S. Ambassador Bill Richardson and the entire U.S. mission, according to Richardson’s chief of staff, Rebecca Cooper.

Cooper said, “The subpoenas are for documents only at this point, for all details pertaining to Monica” Lewinsky. Cooper said Richardson and the staff “plan to comply fully.”

Richardson’s office offered Monica Lewinsky a job as junior assistant doing public outreach and cabinet agency assignments. She would have worked for the ambassador’s chief of staff in the New York office. Her job would have included working with grass-roots organizations across the country, like college model U.N.s and associations and other groups with interest in the work of the United Nations.

Cooper said she was attracted to Lewinsky as a candidate because she had both the White House and public affairs in her background. “She seemed perfect,” Cooper said.

“One of the things that had impressed me was that during our interview she raised areas that the ambassador’s office could be more involved in, like doing more to use the Internet to let people know about the work for the U.S. mission,” she said.

Cooper said that John Podesta and Betty Currie, both of the White House, referred Lewinsky’s name to the ambassador. Scheduling set up an interview for October 31. Richardson and Cooper met with Lewinsky first for a brief amount of time, about ten minutes.

Then Cooper followed up with a half-hour interview with her. Cooper says “She was well-groomed, outgoing, enthusiastic, clearly eager to work hard. She was very typical of the many young people I’ve known and worked with in Washington.”

Cooper said she needed to move quickly on filling the position and two weeks later, offered her the job. “She had the right background and she had the right match, but she was looking for other jobs.” In December, Cooper says Lewinsky was asked to make a decision. Although no firm salary had been set, Cooper says she would have been making in the 30s.

Ambassador Richardson meets “with every political appointee in his office. There are about 20, and they are the jobs that most frequently become available.”

Cooper said the White House “never asked to give her special attention or consideration” to Lewinsky.
