I've read that the Obama campaign diligently keeps the media away from Granny Dunham. His Kenyan grandmother, however, is accessible and gives interviews which, although translated from the local Luo dialect, seem free of racial bias.

I had assumed that they were simply protecting Granny Dunham's privacy but maybe it is more sinister than that.
