I think even a lot of Obama supporters were stunned. I have a few friends that I've not been able to convert, but suddenly they're not so gung ho on Obama any more. Two of them have even asked me if I know how to get “McCain” signs for their front yards!

These people are not poor white folks. They are white, and quite wealthy. One of them is a “corporate” person. Yes, like Obama bashed, in his rush to excuse his own inexcusable behavior. No, I don't think he's heard the last of it either.

He just scared a lot of the wrong folks, folks who had the money, and connections, to support his campaign.

It was last weekend when all this brouhaha hit the news (well, Fox News anyway) and last Sunday I called back east to find that many there didn't even know of it. They watch the network news. This surprised me.

However, Obama has been making statements defending himself poorly and the scandal may have piqued some interest and expanded coverage....until Friday when State Dept. contractors were summarily fired for peeking into Passport information. The MSM changed the subject, manipulated the coverage of the scandal to Obama's benefit. (Internal spying on US citizens is a campaign Red Flag issue on the Dem's platform.)

Let's see what's changed when I call back east tomorrow.
