My Whiteness Versus My Wrightness
Townhall ^ | March 21, 2008 | Lee Culpepper

Posted on 03/21/2008 10:53:27 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Watching the “Reverend” Jeremiah Wright gesticulate like a horny peacock and spew out ignorance, hatred, and bitterness towards America truly inspired my religious faith.

Once Wright pointed out that he was “still in Bible country,” I began to “love the hell out of” rich, white people just as much as Wright does.

How could so many people not understand that white people have caused all the world’s problems? As Wright pointed out to his congregation, the Bible says it’s so. I’m not sure what verse actually says that, but I’m now betting that rich, white people are responsible for my biblical ignorance.

Regardless, I’m rejoicing because I have prayed for forgiveness that God made me white, not Wright. I’m also praying for all the people Reverend Wright identified as “Negroes who just don’t get it.” I hope that Wright will change and that those “Negroes” won’t make him “sick” anymore.

I don’t know about you, but I feel liberated now that I realize that my own stupid decisions and selfish actions are no longer my fault. Now that I won’t have to accept responsibility for my thoughts, my words, or my decisions, I am thanking God for creating rich, white people for me to blame all my problems on. I’m also thanking God for justifying my sin whenever I allow myself to think something I shouldn’t about other people -- just as Reverend Wright has taught me to do.

Praise the Lord that I’m not like rich, white Hillary -- I actually know what it’s like to have “a cab whiz by me.” But I didn’t realize, until last week though, that my not being white enough was probably the reason I was shunned. Thanks to Reverend Wright, now I understand that rich, white people were responsible for those non-white cab drivers’ refusing to pick me up.

I also realize now that rich, white people are responsible for poor children growing up in single-parent families. I used to think that the irresponsible sexual behavior and lack of commitment between the children’s parents were responsible. But I guarantee these parents feel a lot better knowing their fornication is someone else’s fault. Thanks to the Wright kind of reverend, I now have a totally new respect for sexually immoral people – unless they are rich and white, of course.

Despite the conflicting medical evidence, I now know too that AIDS and drug abuse are rich, white people’s fault. Individual’s who choose to abuse drugs and engage in deviant sexual behavior are merely victims driven to bad decisions by rich, white people. Certainly being a victim of evil people feels better than thinking of one’s self as just a pathetic drug addict or a promiscuous sexual deviant. “Oh, I am so glad” that Reverend Wright worked “twice as hard…to get a passing grade” and that he knows he is “smarter than that C-student sitting in the White House.” Otherwise, I would have never known the truth about drugs and AIDS.

I can’t tell you how relieved I was Tuesday concerning Obama and Wright’s twenty-year relationship. Obama said, “Not once in my conversations with him have I heard him talk about any ethnic group in derogatory terms.” Praise the Lord for prepositional phrases like “in my conversations with him.”

When Obama said, “I can no more disown [Wright] than I can disown the black community,” I was glad Obama didn’t actually mean, “If I disowned Reverend Wright because he’s a racist, I would instantly become one of those ‘Negroes who just don’t get it.’”

I finally swooned (actually, I cringed) at Obama’s hopeful audacity when he eloquently humiliated his white grandmother for political gain because “she once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion [had] uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made [Obama] cringe.”

I haven’t figured out, however, how rich, white people caused Obama’s father to abandon his responsibilities as a dad and a husband – thereby forcing someone else to provide for and care for his child. Perhaps Mr. Obama strategically deserted his family so Reverend Wright could preach that Barak “fits the mold” of a poor, black man -- even though Obama was raised by his generous and loving white grandparents.

More importantly, I’m just grateful that Barak refocused our country on “the real culprits” related to racial hostilities. Obama targeted “a corporate culture rife with inside dealing, questionable accounting practices, and short-term greed,” as well as “economic policies that favor the few over the many.” Yes, Obama, if America’s evil corporations and economic policies were not preoccupied with causing greater suffering in the world, perhaps they could find time to develop medications to treat AIDS and continuously improve technology to better our lives.

Obama has reminded all of us that we have a choice. We can examine disturbing evidence in order to draw the right conclusions. Or we can simply ignore it and have the audacity to hope it just goes away.

Let the audacity shine upon me. I want Obama to resign from the Senate, and to cancel his Presidential Race, once and for all. Bad ideas to begin with.

Doesn't matter. Let John McCain do a landslide on either he or theHill.

Guess who's more Presidential this go 'round.

Whites aren't allowed to determine what offends them. Whites best mind their place and do as house honkies like E. Richardson or Chris Wallace tell them to do, i.e., shut up and don't be uppity with master Barack.

As a poor Honky who can’t jump, can’t dance, has no rhythm, and got’s no mojo in his soul, I certainly do one heck of a job of keeping my assigned Negro down! Reverend Wright is my Negro, and I just got him kicked off his brother Barack’s presidential campaign. Watch as I continue to make him squirm with all the negative news stories I drum up against the reverend.

Black people (just like the racist Reverend Obama) can be some of the most vile and profound examples of racism.

However the liberal definition of Racist is : a white person, (even though other blacks in Africa captured the descendents of "african americans" and sold them to french slave traders who then sold them to white plantation owners as slaves, (yet white men died to set them free)and the white american slave owners treated them better than any other slave owners in the history of the world

What is truly funny is that it seems O’bama thinks this issue “will go away” in a week or two.

He is oblivious to how scary the Rev Wright is, and even worse, how very, very scary the reception from the ‘congregation’ was. If those people actully that hate filled drivel, then this Nation is doomed to racial division well past my Grandchildrens lifetime.

This ain't going away.

Wright was wrong but he was right; Grandma was wrong but she was white.

I have always found blacks to be the most racist, on a whole, of any other group or race on the planet.

Dang. The writer is on to something here. I have now turned over a new leaf-—a new “not white enough” leaf-—and he's right, it is absolutely exhilarating to realize that it is those “rich white people” who are responsible for all the ills of the world!! Like Obama, I could have saved myself a lifetime of toil and grief!! /s to the nth degree

This guy is not just an “empty suit”. He is a rotten red herring, who should have NEVER been considered Presidential material, by anyone, even crazy liberals. Now, I'm concerned what kind of conflagration our nation will suffer if he loses. Imagine what kind of violent hell on earth could be inspired by Obama and followers of “Reverend” Wright?

I just put ammo on my grocery list.

"I just put ammo on my grocery list."

Everyone should: I've got a bad feeling about the next year or so in this country. I think we'll see riots, looting and lawlessness worse than Watts, Detroit, Hurricane Katrina and Rodney King rolled into one.

I haven’t ever owned slaves, my parents (rest their souls) never owned slaves, my GRANDPARENTS never owned slaves, Yet, it is interesting that I am blamed as if I, and all my family, continue to own, and mistreat, slaves.

I won’t go so far as to vouch for the treatment received by American slaves, but I do think it is time American Blacks eased up on the race blaming game. I look forward to the day blacks are able to honestly vote for a candidate because they agree with his politics, rather than simply because he is black. I will probably never see that day, hopefully my kids will.

I think even a lot of Obama supporters were stunned. I have a few friends that I've not been able to convert, but suddenly they're not so gung ho on Obama any more. Two of them have even asked me if I know how to get “McCain” signs for their front yards!

These people are not poor white folks. They are white, and quite wealthy. One of them is a “corporate” person. Yes, like Obama bashed, in his rush to excuse his own inexcusable behavior. No, I don't think he's heard the last of it either.

He just scared a lot of the wrong folks, folks who had the money, and connections, to support his campaign.
