The masterpiece of a disaster (Pruden spears Obama's pathos and bathos)
The Washington Times ^ | 21 Mar 08 | Wes Pruden

What a difference a day makes. Twenty-four hours after Barack Obama's teaching moment on race, the landscape was littered with eminent pundits, lying agog in the weeds, overcome by euphoria and flummoxed by failing eupepsia.

Their squeals of praise were universally breathtaking: "It was an extraordinary moment of truth-telling." "A masterpiece!" "A profile in courage!" "Brilliant, inspiring, intellectually supple!" "Searing, nuanced, gut-wrenching and loyal." "A speech we have all been waiting for for a generation." The punditocracy, having overdosed on nuance, seared by supple and sore from all those wrenched guts, is fresh out of exclamation points, now on back order in newsrooms everywhere.

A day after that, reality intrudes. Pundits only observe. Pollsters take the first true measure of events, and yesterday the first polls taken since the speech reveal that the remarks that Obamaniacs call the greatest speech since Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address look like a disaster.

He was quoting some Liberal, I'm sure, but whom I do not know. They were all gushy over Obama’s speech.

Mr. Obama keeps his overwhelming black support, as expected, but only 36 percent of white voters say they would vote for him. That's the ominous statistic; sad and bad as it may be, it's nevertheless a fact that nobody male or female, black or white or any shade in between can win the White House without a lot of white voters.

Even though affirmative action programs have been ongoing for a generation, and even though Mrs. Obama's Ivy League education is a direct result of this, they still blame all of their problems on Whitey. As if Whitey, by virtue of his skin lives an untroubled life.

The Obamas self obbessed skin gazing reveals their beliefs. They do not know of empathy, they can not believe in it. Yet that is what inspired the ending of slavery and the belief that everyone is equal under the law. The Obamas could never consider an affirmative action program for Whitey if it came to that, they see no humanity in Whitey. There is not even any care for Obama's own Grandparents.

It's all about revenge, and stealing from Whitey what Whitey stole from them, for the Obamas. But mark my words, if someone like the Obamas gets into power they will turn this country in to a country which would be envious of of South Africa's fate. For the Obamas truly believe that what built this country is theft. No industry, no fair trade, no intellegence applied to systems to make them better.

People who don't know how to make wealth and who get it via a gift, can not keep it. Giving a poor man a mercedes will not him wealthy, he hasn't the knowledge or the means to maintain it. But then the sort of people who listen to the like of Pastor Wright would not even have an interest in learning how to fish for themselves, all they seek is for an all encompansing scape-goat who they will sacrifce for their self inflicted miserys.

It's a very good thing that there is a majority who can see clearly the evil which this man represents and who will keep him from power.

That should be as plain as day to anyone with a brain. If you are from a numeric minority and want to have a chance of becoming President and leading the US, common sense would tell you that you'd better reach some accommodation with the MAJORITY..... You'd better not kick s^%$ in the faces of the very people you need to put you over the top in the ballot box. I think they call that politics!!!

Obama, like his minister, is playing a con. First, ther is the Reverend Wright. He has an audience that's almost certainly all black. Senator Obama has an audience that's racially mixed, and, like all Liberals, muddle-minded. They both wisely target their audience with the type of message that's effective. What we can be now reasonably sure of is that Obama has a great deal of sympathy to the message his minister targets at his audience since he chooses himself to be in that audience with his wife and daughters. It is with that congregation that Obama spends his Sunday mornings of his own volition, and it is with them that he tithes. Therefore, we can be somewhat sure that the true Obama is in sync with that “religion” or value system. And it really does help explain why he is so keen to meet all of these foreign America haters. Why not? After all, each Sunday he gets a breakfast of 100% anti-American vitriol.
