He used SkyTel service and they archive their data. Any Freepers know if the SkyTel receiving system/server does recording and archiving of "location received" data? Maybe in a message header or in the wireless reception records.
If, for instance a relevant text message were sent while in Detroit, then referred to again while in the Mayor's Florida hideaway area or the area of his secret hotel room in West Virginia, it could go a long way, circumstantially, to linking him with the text message.

If I’m the judge, I have no problem with this one. Prove that they were sent from their particular devices, and that’s enough for me to admit it into evidence. If they want to claim that someone else was doing the typing, then fine... Let them, and we’ll see if the jury believes them.

Yes, I believe they were a SkyTel Skywriter devices, very similar to Blackberries.
I figured more people would recognize Blackberry.
