Are supplies really "plentiful", as the group claims?

Stove oil costs more because of Congress’ new requirements, but there is no shortage.

“Stove oil costs more because of Congress new requirements, but there is no shortage.”
For sure there is no shortage, because nobody can afford it.

What are these requirements, I had a feeling these Bozo’s were invoved.
To: Arkansas Toothpick
This is the equivalent of the oil companies asking for a congressional investigation of trucking companies in the middle of a recession for not driving enough and depressing the price of diesel.

To: Arkansas Toothpick
A friend of mine owns a trucking business.
She says that for every 10 cent increase in the price of diesel fuel, it costs her drivers $200 per week in additional costs.

The cost of diesel has historically been considerably below regular gasoline until the last few years. Someone needs to find out why it is now so high. When diesel goes up every product we consume is effected.
Where I live regular gas is $3.19 and diesel is $3.99.

Eventually, truckers might strike.
I could hardly blame them. I know some truckers with their own companies, and the high cost of fuel is killing them.
The standard reaction around here is tough sh**. But those same posters then drive to the store to buy transported goods, so it cuts both ways.

My uncle is selling his truck and hoping to drive for someone else. He can’t afford to drive his own any more.

Lots of diesel being imported right now. Most is selling on a flat rate far below the Platt’s price...about $250.00/MT below Platts.

My company runs about 250 trucks. We don’t care what diesel costs, because we pass the costs on to our customers. Of course, our customers then have to raise their costs, etc., etc., etc.

Makes a person also wonder why natural gas prices are so high when the experts say we a have at least a 300 year supply already discovered.
Also why are we the country not using more vehicles powered with clean natural gas?

Eventually, truckers might strike.
Only around 15% of truckers are unionized so for the most part, striking truckers are unemployed truckers but they're ending up unemployed anyway.

True, union bashing is the global warming of the right. No facts necessary, just blame.

Just like the CA energy crisis, this gasoline crisis is a boondoggle and someone or some people are rich, fat cats but it ain’t the American people who are being gouged on a daily basis.
