ONCE AGAIN, R-A-C-E has emerged as the thorniest rose in American life and politics. Barack Obama's powerful speech on Tuesday may have laid it to rest (for now). Before we wave bye-bye to the trapped-in-the-'50s (1950s? 1850s? 1750s?), attic-crazy Rev. Jeremiah Wright, let's salute him with a multiple-choice quiz:

Really, that is all he has run on. He has played that race card every which way but loose.
His “typical white person” comment qualifies it to be renamed as “The Audacity a Dope” speech.
Oh when I heard that I just laughed out loud. That man is in a hole and he doesn’t have the sense to stop digging.
It’s sad that apparently a heck of alot of blacks have a terrible, racist, stereotypical view of whites.
Obama’s church and pastor foster the continued hate-whitey-hustle. Obama agrees to so great an extent that he has brought his daughters for inculcaiton in the same poison for their souls. He’s thoroughly in favor of the stuff!
“Typical white person” is Obama speak for “You people.”
Yeah, a supposed relative (white side) of Obama’s called into John Gibson show this evening (he sounded authentic). When asked about this whole Wright business he said the family (his close relatives- Obama is perhaps a second cousin type relative) was “crestfallen” , and he want on to talk about taking one’s kids to a church like that.
And Obama had the “audacity” to pile-on Imus because Obamas daughters had to hear that kind of stuff. Little did we know they were hearing far worse every Sunday.

Don’t bother wondering whether you are looking at an Irishman, Russian, Aussie, or Scandinavian.
Don’t bother considering the whitey’s ancestors may have suffered horrible injustice as well.
Don’t bother considering 95% of the white folks you come across don’t come from ancestry that enslaved blacks.
The most troubling thing of all is that many children heard the sermons, so Wright passes on hatred to the young. Not an admirable legacy.
Surely there is some middle ground somewhere.

Is Wright saying that black men are predominantly gay?
Michelle Malkin is the only one I’ve heard mention this aspect to this degree, so far. I think Michelle hangs out here, so I expect she’ll have a few other aspects of this hate-whitey-hustle to elaborate in the next few days (including that phrase). If we see soon the word ‘inculcate’ in reports, we’ll know they’re reading right along for material. The other phrase to watch for is ‘Great Wright Way’ or ‘Great Wright Whale’ ... FR posters are the most creative turners of phrase on the Web. David Horowitz used a notion raised here at FR recently ... ‘what if the church preached white supremacy, would democrats vote for a candidate sitting in that atmosphere for twenty years?’
The only way to defeat “racism” in black town is to take a firm stand against it. Blacks have a victim mentality. They love to make white folk guilty. No Whitey alive today ever owned slaves. I am enslaved via taxes to provide for black criminals and those too lazy to work. It’s time to say to colored people, “Get over it”.
Nobama was speaking of how race is still a problem in this nation. His ignorant "Typical White Person" comment spoke volumes about him and his understanding of the problems this country has.

How else can they be sure to have a group of future adults to pick up the torch?-—same as any socialist, commie dictatorship operates-—why should we be amazed to see this stuff in action?-—While I have my white man biases,I have been proud of what our Nation has tried to do to help the negro race to excel and have as much equality as possible(they have to do something for themselves, you know) and Obama and his wife have reaped the benefits of affimative action and ‘brownie points for race’—now, I see that some of the black folks will never agree to join us as Americans for they give allegiance to Africa (where their heads would very likely be chopped off by their ‘black bros’if they belong to the wrong tribe), so I am wary of all, since I do not know who is who anymore-—bet many Americans feel the same way tonight but are afraid to say so-—God Bless America
Rush said it well a week or so ago. When asked what he thought it would take for racism to end, he said, “For us to quit teaching our children to hate.”
Spot on. The Obamas have been teaching their children to hate. “Rev.” Wright has been teaching children to hate.
Most of us do not teach our children to hate.
Oh the shoe can never been seen on the other foot- it’s much too profitable, both emotionally and financially, to blame someone else for your troubles. The amount of money involved in race extortion and the emotional satisfaction and selfish hateful pride that goes along with this sort of attitude about non-blacks is apparently so intoxicating that very few seem to want to give it up and just be an unhyphenated American.
