A friend of mine who is a life long democrat called me just today to ask me what I thought. He said that he was going to vote Republican for the first time in his life. I told him that he was finally leaving “the dark side”.
No fun, I always refer to us (conservatism in its entirety) as "The Dark Side." If I ever make a suggestion to "join us" to any liberal friend I almost always pull a Darth Vader. "If only you knew the *powerrrr* of the *dark side*."
It's the sarcasm angle, but I figure when lefties are told that people on the right are *evil* , and said lefties aren't totally bat-s*** crazy, they start to wonder what else they were lied to about when they see right-wingers not eating panda fetuses for jollies (as they were no doubt told we do).
Humor wins the day, with me personally anyway.
