During the Ten Commandments rallies (I participated in a few), I saw children arrested for holding a sign too far over a police line. I was threatened with arrest if I dared to sit on the steps of the Supreme Court Building. At the Terri Schiavo rally in Florida, a little boy was arrested for trying to give her a glass of water.
But these people, throwing rocks and bottles, get a free pass?
After attending a GOP rally a few years ago ended we found a hundred or so jeering protestors had been allowed to block a sidewalks around the event hall. Instead of clearing a path for us to the parking lot the San Jose police basically said 'too bad, find another route' & we ended up weaving our way through traffic to get around the protestors.
Not exactly police brutality but it woke me up regarding the potential for political effect on law enforcement.
