Heather Mills throws water over Paul McCartney lawyer over £24.3m divorce

Given the bad blood flowing through such a high-profile domestic it was quite a restrained gesture, really. There could have been shouting or even fisticuffs.

But Heather Mills restricted herself to throwing a glass of water over the immaculately coiffed hair of Sir Paul McCartney’s lawyer before emerging from the High Court yesterday to profess herself profoundly satisfied with the result. The £24.3 million divorce award, that is, not the wrecking of a tidy legal hairdo.

Fiona Shackleton, solicitor for the former Beatle, walked from court looking a little damp but not unduly discomfited. She had, after all, just saved her client a shade over £100 million.

Ms Mills, the former model who tunnelled her way into a massive seam of gold, will receive just one fifth of the £125 million that she had claimed from Sir Paul. In an impassioned speech on the steps of the Royal Courts of Justice, Ms Mills insisted that she was “very, very happy with the decision”. Well, who wouldn’t be?

Yet she was not entirely at peace with the world, launching a direct personal attack on Ms Shackleton, saying that she had “handled this case in the worst manner you could imagine”. One warring cat could not have miaowed louder to another. According to Ms Mills, her husband’s solicitor had called her “many, many names before even meeting me when I was in a wheelchair”.

Sir Paul and his legal team, undoubtedly grateful for what they can only see as a victory snatched from the jaws of an ill-conceived four-year marriage, emerged at least 15 minutes after Ms Mills. They made no ranting speeches but the normally composed Ms Shackleton looked flushed. Top lawyers do not usually expect a showering in Her Majesty’s higher courts.

Heather Mills did us all a favor, by exposing herself as a lieing, despicable, gold digger, who tried to use and abuse the legal system and media to steal money from an international icon and hero.

My favorite part of the opinion was not the numerous parts where the Judge dissed Heather Mills, but where he pointed out Paul’s love for Linda.

Mills must have been a really good lay. How else do think McCartney “fell in love with her”? His kids noticed that she had more than a couple of screws loose. Why didn’t he? Must have been the good sex.

It’s simple assault and battery. When will Heather be charged?

When asked by reporters if, in the wake of this the disastrous marriage and break up, would he ever consider going down on one knee again, Sir Paul replied; “I would prefer to refer to her as Heather”.

I feel so sorry for Paul. He sincerely believed he had found another Linda and would have that same love and close relationship for the rest of his life.

Damn! What is it with this woman? She’s been married 4 years and had a baby. McCartney took care of the child. If she’s wise and not stupid as she seems, she’s got more money than she had before she married him. She didn’t have to split her assets she had before she married him ($15 million). Plus, she’s already got a job. This woman makes other gold diggers look nice.

Yeah...I’m sure she held a gun to his head to marry her and have a baby. He acted like a typical guy.....and he got what he deserved.

Lawyer looks a little like Paul. In fact, all of his girl friends through the years look like him.

her husband’s solicitor had called her “many, many names before even meeting me when I was in a wheelchair”.

So being in a wheel chair, even temporarily, should mean you can be a be*octh unchallenged?

She was married to him for 4 years out of his life - out of the decades it took him and his talents to make his money and she thinks she's entitled to much more? Poor dear will now have to struggle along on a mere 48,094,678.32, American. How will she ever manage?

If I was the lawyer, I would have pulled off Heather’s leg and smacked Ms Mills on the noggin with it, then set the leg on fire with my Bic.

Please....he found a young vegetarian chic and went for it. No gun was held to his head. He didn’t have to get married and have a kid. Mistakes have consequences. He has no sympathy from me. She was how old???

"According to Ms Mills, her husband’s solicitor had called her “many, many names before even meeting me when I was in a wheelchair”."

Heather Mills has shown herself to be worthy of being called "many, many names" in her pursuit of Sir Paul's fortune. I can only hope for the sake of their daughter that she's a better mom than she is a wife or example, though it doesn't look like it. Whatever Sir Paul had to spend to rid himself of her was money well spent. Two words for future reference: Prenuptial agreement.
