Seventeen years after it was written, a booklet authored by U.S. Senate candidate Joe Pennacchio has reemerged as a campaign issue.
Pennacchios Republican rival, Murray Sabrin, has begun distributing copies of the book, calling it a fascist manifesto and demanding that Pennacchio not only drop his Senate candidacy, but resign from his state Senate seat as well. Sabrin plans to hold a press conference on the topic this afternoon.
"These kinds of things are completely unacceptable. Theyre disturbing and theyre hurtful," said Sabrin spokesman George Ajjan, noting that Sabrin's parents were holocaust survivors. "When you come from a background like Murrays and you have an opponent whos talking about camps of any kind, its extremely disturbing and unacceptable.

The s**t has really hit the fan. I don’t know if the KO’s Pennacchio’s chances, but it surely damages them.
What exactly did he write?
It’s called “The Nationalist Manifesto” and it reccomends, among other things, S=setting up domestic military camps to confine homeless people, requiring the registering and ballistic testing of guns, forced conscription of all non-violent criminals, and, most disturbing of all, government distributing the drug RU-486.
With regards to this race, it’s BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD for Republicans.
What was that from his college days? He doesn’t still believe that, does he??
Wow, I thought he’d make a fine candidate. I guess this means he’s toast.
LOL, so how’s Sabrin...?
Thanks.
The document was written in 1991, well after college. And I was also hopeful about “Jersey Joe.”
As for Sabrin, he’s a Ron Paul supporter.
Our goose is Kooked in NJ.
Farnk Lautencadaver is unpopular in his home state. There’s still hope, provided the GOP can come up with a viable candidate.
Darn! Oh well, looks like Lautenberg is a shoe-in now for sure.
You mean Jersey Joe Pennacchio. I’m shocked, I tell ya!...Not :)
I hate ALL NJ Politicians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
interesting, thanks for the ping.
He also likes democrats, such as JFK (2:30) and a Bronx, NY democrat congressmen who went to jail for bribes and corruption. (3:50)

“Farnk Lautencadaver is unpopular in his home state. Theres still hope, provided the GOP can come up with a viable candidate.”
The GOP is owed a victory after than Torricelli stunt, but really, I dunno either of these candidates.
BTW, a guy whose name sounds like Pinnochio is probably not got a good name for politics.
What about a Congresscritter. Smith, or Garrett?
Where’s Tom Kean? Ready to try again?
Tom Kean was chosen to be state Senate Minority Leader. He already said he isn’t interested. Chris Smith has too much seniority in the House.
There could be some others, particularly if Pennacchio drops out.
“As for Sabrin, hes a Ron Paul supporter.”
I kinda figured that, birds of a feather and all.
Putting homeless people into different domestic military camps as a temporary solution, where non drug or alcohol addicted people will be given vocational training. Those with chemical dependencies would be separated into other camps where they would be provided with treatment.
Why not put many of existing domestic military basis to good use?... Our national defense should not be limited to defense of foreign invaders. The enemy within, consisting of poverty and despair can be a far more immediate and destructive force.
All he would have to do is change the title to the "Humanist Manifesto" or something similar, tone down the language just a little and say he was being a compassionate advocate for the homeless.
Lieberals propose solutions not all that different and get cheered for it.
Hmmm... a democrat nationalist writes a book calling for work camps, mandated abortions, gun confiscations...
Another nationalist socialist?
Pss... Pennachio... your nose is growing.
Pennacchio is a Republican.
