paint ball guns are illegal inside DC city limits, otherwise I'd have mine everytime I went.

How about slinhshots? They illegal too? If not, I imagine they could hurl a paintball pretty well. :))

My understanding is that any device capapble of hurling an object faster or harder than can be done by hand, and capable of inflicting injury, is illegal.

I don't think catapults are covered however. Which lends itself to some interesting scenarios.
