The speech was eloquent to the ears of the left (including the media). And it really is the job of conservatives to explain to people just how left wing this speech was. It was a view of never ending racism, capitalism as evil, conservatives as the equivalent of Reverand Wright's crazy statements. It was an exercise in marxist rhetoric.

I certainly hope Obama can be defeated after he listed Reaganism, welfare reform, crime fighting, and opposition to affirmative action as the racist results of capitalism.

More eloquent to the ears than to the eyes. I listened to it first, on the radio, and had to admit, he sounded good.

Then I watched it on a YouTube video, and saw his head and eyes going back and forth, from the right teleprompter to the left teleprompter, and he looked like a shallow young man doing an good job of reading a speech. He had the voice talents of a decent actor, but not the facial expressions or body language.

... and those oversized American Flags, dominating his weak visual presence, looked rather out of place, as fake symbolism. If flags have feelings, they were whispering to each other, behind Obama's back, "... and what did you do wrong to get stuck on this darned job?"
