He did a great job of addressing the least offensive parts of Wright’s diatribes.

I am put off and nauseated by the anti-american parts. He, of course, didn’t even talk about that.

a view that sees white racism as endemic, and that elevates what is wrong with America above all that we know is right with America,

A nutshell description of the extreme left's worldview.

Great speech if you believe America is the cause of all evil in the world.

the answer to the slavery question was already embedded within our Constitution -- a Constitution that had at its very core the ideal of equal citizenship under the law; a Constitution that promised its people liberty, and justice, and a union that could be and should be perfected over time.

And that is precisely why people are riled up. NOT because of Wright's condemnation of flawed POLICY or flawed PEOPLE, but his condemnation of the ATTEMPT - his condemnation of the NATION itself. And you, Mr. O'bama, are too willfully blind to see that.

You're not so quick and up-front about milking it, but you did let it be milked.

“We the people, in order to form a more perfect union...”

That is NOT from the Declaration of Independence.

That is the beginning of the Constitution...

The would-be President does not know his American history.

Obama says those words were from the Declaration of Independence in 1787...

GET IT RIGHT OBAMA!!!!!

What people see in this guy, I’ll never know.

There are tons of black politicians and preachers who can give better speeches than Obama.

And if you’re looking for a “unifying” figure, why anyone would look to the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate is beyond me.

Obama is just Jesse Jackson cleaned up real good.

The black community has a wide chip on their collective shoulders as they look at us Whiteys almost daring us to knock it off.

By the way, did anyone notice this gem from Obama ... "the Christians in the lion's den"?

Um, not to be picky, Mr. Bible Scholar, but it was Daniel ... an Old Testament Jew.

“But it is a story that has SEARED into my genetic makeup the idea that this nation is more than the sum of its parts — that out of many, we are truly one.”

Why is it that they always use the “S” word when they lie? (If Obama is such a builder-upper, why does he go to church where the preacher is a tearer-downer?)

“...just as some have dismissed Geraldine Ferraro, in the aftermath of her recent statements, as harboring some deep-seated racial bias.”

Here we have Obama employing the Nixonian/Clintonian tactic of accusing someone of something awful while at the same time taking credit for NOT accusing someone of something awful.

In the white community, the path to a more perfect union means acknowledging that what ails the African-American community does not just exist in the minds of black people; that the legacy of discrimination -- and current incidents of discrimination, while less overt than in the past -- are real and must be addressed.

This paragraph sums up what I think Obama thinks of white people. He thinks that we have to come to terms with our original sin of slavery. The problem is is that MANY WHITES have already come to terms with it. The problem is that people like JWright, Barack Obama, and Michelle Obama don't BELIEVE us. They think that we shouldn't just treat them as equals, but that we should bow down, kiss their feet and beg for forgiveness. Well, I'm sorry. I was not a slaveowner. None of my immediate family members were slaveowners. Nobody in my family is a racist and I am not going to be accused of treating black Americans as anything less than my fellow Americans.

I have one Lord that I look to to forgive my sins and that one Lord's name is NOT Barack Obama.

“The fact that so many people are surprised to hear that anger in some of Reverend Wright’s sermons simply reminds us of the old truism that the most segregated hour in American life occurs on Sunday morning.”

Ah, Senator, like yesterday I heard you claim YOU were surprised by the anger in Wright’s sermons.

I think it succeeded in its purpose and for its intended audience. But what’s missing is something to address, specifically, the ignorance reflected in Wright’s comments about AIDS being developed as a genocide against colored people. That’s simply not true. There is no excuse for preaching anything based on that palpably false premise.

What a nasty little man. He threw his own grandma under the bus.

The best punishment for that is what his current wife is.

In my limited experience with women, one's that are grievance based like his spouse, carry that grievance into every aspect of their lives.

What's that old Country and Western song?, "It's hard to kiss the lips..."

This is a nice speech on race relations,

Now when is he going to address his own reasons for picking and staying at a Church that preached God D*** America when it should have been baptising and making disciples for Jesus.

Then deciding to run for the highest office of that country with that same man assigned to his steering and direction commitee.

Then saying he would reject Farrahkan but under the table giving him a wink and a nod.

Now that’s audacity.

The vast majority of that speech sounds just like something Bill Clinton would deliver... platitudes and BS shaped into flowers to fool the masses of stupid and uneducated.
