Obama urges Americans to help heal racial divide

I've done what I can. Then along came racist, bigot wright with his comments and, in just a few short hours, set back my efforts and the efforts of hundreds, no hundreds of thousands, just like me. Obie needs to address wright and his fellow travelers directly and publicly.

I’ve done my part, I keep my kids away from invective hate filled bastards... and when I have the misfortune of running into them I condemn them for it, not make excuses for them. Fauxbama exposes his kids to them weekly and cannot condemn evil when its right in his face... If there is anyone guilty of continuing the racial divide, I’d say Fauxbama needs to look in the mirror.

My pastor starts blaming the sins of the world on whitie or blackie or the US Government, I guarantee you, My butt won’t be in that seat by the time he’s finished his sermon, let alone back there week after week for 20 years.

Here’s the reality folks.. Fauxbama needed this racist pig to back him to have the political career he has had.. without this man supporting him he would not be where he is today.. Without this hate monger, Fauxbama would have never been more than some advocate, in Chicago.. he needed this guy and his church to build his base to launch and sustain his political career... That’s the facts.

This guy is in hip deep with this guy and knows exactly what this guy is all about and the fact this guy IS who he IS is exactly why Fauxbama is in bed with him.

Quit lying Fauxbama, be a man for once.

Sen. Barack Obama in a speech Tuesday addressed the controversy surrounding his former minister, using it as an opportunity to challenge Americans to take a closer look at race relations.

The biggest racist of all is one who ALWAYS places racial concerns into any situation for personal gain.

By the sounds of this statement, he has had a good spiritual mentor throughout his life.

I do not believe that my black friends are on the other side of this divide, where the hipocrites call themselves
“Christian”.

Thanks to Obama and “Rev. Wright” the racial divide has been widened. They have taken us back 45 years and are rehashing and opening old wounds. Shame on both of them. Obama kept bringing up slavery in his speech today, real “progress” and “moving forward”.

Notice that he left ‘imams’ off his list of hate-mongering ministers, rabbis, and priests! What a sicko!

“That anger is not always productive; indeed, all too often it distracts attention from solving real problems; it keeps us from squarely facing our own complicity in our condition, and prevents the African-American community from forging the alliances it needs to bring about real change.”

I liked that.

Most of what this man said goes beyond simple racial divide. What he said can be considered treasonous.

The tagline’s inspired by our changeling, hope-peddling all-reconciling sage of Chicago, the Junior Senator from Illinois.

You know what? Had it not been for slavery, the blacks in this country would be living among squalor, starvation and a rampant AIDS epidemic in about every country in Africa.

No. If it had not been for slavery, the blacks in this country would not exist.

True. But you get my point.

True. But you get my point.

I get the point you are trying to make, but it is enormously flawed. The couplings among and between African born slaves in America simply would not have been the same couplings if they had never been taken out of Africa. Thus, it is ludicrous to imply that the exact same black person living America today would have been living in Africa if not for slavery. No, that person simply would have never come into existence. Where would Tiger Woods be if not for slavery, African or Korea? The average black American has 20% European blood. The result of America not shipping in slaves would have simply been the near absence of black faces in America with an insignificant effect on the African population.

Think of it like this. White Americans of British descent outnumber British citizens 3 to 1. Does that mean that if America was not colonized, that Britain's population would be three times what it is now? Of course not. When you break of a branch from a bush and plant it, it will grow fast enough to eventually catch up with the original bush. Thus, the American slave trade basically did not significantly result in the reduced number of blacks living in Africa despite resulting in the significant increase in the number of blacks living in America. Without the American slave trade, Africa's population would be pretty much the same today with a miniscule number of different faces.

Also, I have never understood the notion that black Americans should judge their conditions based on African standards. Why should that be the case? Why should I be content my situation simply because my situation may be better that the situation in Africa? The average black person can trace his or her roots on this land at LEAST 200 years. Once those slaves stepped on the shores of this land unwillingly, they, by right, became American citizens and therefore, by right, should have been afforded all rights as American citizens. How they lived before was irrelevant.

Well,Haley was really misinformed then.
Pre-colonial African societies were quite varied, ranging from tribal villages to complex nation states like Kongo,Mali,Ghana and the Asante nation. Some were cruel and barbaric, others were literate and highly skilled at fine arts and agriculture.
No one had the right to wrench them away from home to the New World. Its like saying the Communists had the betterment of the Kulaks in mind when they collectivized farms in the Ukraine.
You can always find crazy black people out there who hate themselves and their people.Hell, everytime I hear one black man call another the N word,I know he thinks very little about himself.
