If you injure anyone it is your responsibility. The circumstances are always up for discussion. Killing a combatant in war is not murder, it is killing. Ever done a vehicular homicide? Or even manslaughter? You do not get a free ride. In the old days before insurance everything was common law and you were responsible for your actions. If blaming it “you had to respond” eases your conscience then you go right on and believe it. On Judgment Day we will know the answer.

“The circumstances are always up for discussion. Killing a combatant in war is not murder,..”

“If blaming it “you had to respond” eases your conscience then you go right on and believe it.”

Your arguments are a bit fragmentary. You seem to be making two opposite points.
