The conservative response probably shouldn't be to keep beating the J. Wright horse, but to now attack exactly what he said---that the schools SUCK (and why is that, after what has been, essentially, 60 years of Dem policies?), that we've lost a lot of factory jobs (and why is that, after MI and OH have wrapped themselves in Dem policies that make us utterly uncompetitive?), and that health care is expensive (and why is that, given that we've demonized the drug compnaies and allowed John Edwards and the trial lawyers to sue doctors for everything they have?). This is where the battle can move, to POLICY, where now, instead of just criticizing the Dems, we can show how our policies WORK and theirs don't.
Einstein was brilliant as was anything he said in his sleep, obama is mediocre at best.

Well...yeah...THAT is the elephant in the room.....why are people DEMOCRATS!!!!!?????? Their policies NEVER work...like the Socialism he espouses.
And yes, conservatives really ought to use this as an opening to discuss how and why the Great Society has failed, how and why schools have failed, and how and why protectionism and labor parochialism writ large has hurt us all.
Totally wrong analysis. Sure, switch the debate from what is currently killing Obama to Democrat issues. Wonderful.
I read it and I think he hit a home run...BY KNOW MEANS do I support him for President, but as “text” and once he “delivers” it...it will be a home run.
Hillary has read it and I know they are in fullpanic mode...
I couldn’t care less that he dissed Wright. It’s the timing that makes me angry and all of this is just damage control. He loves this man and you damn well better know that he agreed with most of his ideas, or he would NEVER stay under the man’s leadership.
So did I.
The story here is not that the Great Society failed. We all know that already, which why some of us are here...
And those you want us to lecture don't care that it's failed. They still want to get paid regardless and continue to get a pass for cultural implosion.
I'm not letting this go. No way. The old media might but this will stick to Obama like the tar baby for this whole race....and he is the one who plays race and then goes “Who Me?”
This is the first time in my 30 years of adult life that I have seen black racism which is endemic actually take some heat and have to whither under the light of day. Note how Obama can't take that heat, he still wants to opine about America's failures rather than truly confront his and Wright's own demons.
Excuse me....we have some momentum now and I hope some have the balls to drive this home. The sad fact is most Americans are clueless. This sort of talk is not uncommon in black urban churches from fiery preachers. It's the new Reverend Ike...
Imagine a white politician attending a white church that spoke this vitriol of blacks ....he would have withdrawn from the campaign.
I and many other are tired of it. Some of us live it. This crap spews right into rap music lyrics, black thug culture and beyond. The next time some black thug walks up and carjacks some soccer mom in Target parking lot and kills her for sport, do you really think that rhetoric like that from Wright has not made it's way through the black community and influenced his heartlessness towards whites?
You bet it has. I've lived it with my own eyes and ears.
Reverend Wright and his enablers deserve the same fate as Tom Metzger or Pete Peters (look em up kids). They are doing the same thing to my race they accuse us of doing to them.
That Obama can even run for POTUS with this baggage is so pitiful.
Folks here have been saying ....”don't touch this” since we all knew about it months ago. Why? Do blacks get a pass on racism? McCain can continue to sit back and let it happen but talk radio, blogs and some media can keep it going. This will probably return to smolder but it's efficacy will remain. I say good and Godspeed.
The decision to air it out was excellent. The speech was simply touching the bases. Some topics are bound to draw forth high flying rhetoric. Credit for airing it out.

Hope is doing away with the NEA.
This guy is such a fraud, don’t let off this issue. Obama wants to make an issue out of race, so let’s keep talking about his pastor, his church, and his willful acceptance of the anti-American philosophy.
