You go to a Racist, Hate Mongering Church because you are a Racist, Hate Monger yourself.
Hard to escape the logic of that...

If such a tautology is to be plausibly denied, I'd say the person in question would've had to leave within six months of first attending. A bit longer--maybe a year--would be plausible if one's parents were long-time members. If one's spouse were the racist, hate-monger, it might be plausibly denied if one attended for up to a year and a half, but by the end of 18 months, baby, no one can say you haven't bought into the whole megillah!
