In my opinion, now that Milton Friedman has passed from among us, Thomas Sowell is unquestionably the greatest social scientist in the world.

Moreover, as a “thinker,” his only competition is Victor Davis Hanson.

I would be the last person to want to insult Mister Sowell. I am awed by his brilliance and his profound understanding of humans and the vagaries of their societies.
