Her brothers had a grudge against her. "Girl killed over honour," from the Daily Times (thanks to Twostellas):

LAHORE: A 22-year-old girl was stabbed to death by her two brothers for honour in Baghbanpura on Saturday.

The victim was identified as Shahnaz, daughter of Faqeer Hussain. The police said that Shanaz's brothers, Babar Hussain and Shaukat Ali, had had a grudge against Shahnaz.

On Saturday, they thrashed her to death. The police registered a case against the accused and sent the body to the city morgue for an autopsy.

What a barbaric crime. It shows how good we have it over here.

A Pakistani taxi driver once scolded me for having the sleeves of my blouse rolled up, showing my forearms in public. I was very pissed off at the time, but this really puts things in perspective.

I think my response would have been, “get the Hell out of our country and go back to that primitive disgusting hellhole pakistan, you woman hating scumbag.”

Oh, it took a lot of self-control not to drag him out of the vehicle and repeatedly slam my knee into his face.

In Pakistan or in the US?

If it had been in the US, that cab driver would have seen how well I've learned to cuss in Arabic.

In the US! I’ve never been to Pakistan and I don’t plan on going anytime soon.

I’d like to visit Morocco, though. Great scenery and I hear they’re a little more reasonable and tolerant.

It's a lot of fun. We have to shoot about every six weeks so we stay sharp. When we're through doing target practice with our own weapons, they bring out the AK-47 for us to play with. Actually, they want us to be familiar with handling it as well because it's a common weapon among the enemy.

YOUR shooting picture is great, too. That terrain looks like a desert somewhere.

This desert?

‘it took a lot of self-control not to drag him out of the vehicle ‘

C’mon, never let that stand in the way of a righteous ass-whipping.

I hear Jordan's like that too, on both accounts. Supposedly they're more level-headed...King Abdullah scuba dives, skydives, rides motorcycles, and was in a Star Trek episode, not to mention he went to school in the US. He can't be that much of an orthodox Islamist.

I'd like to see Petra in Jordan...the city carved out of rock where part of the third Indiana Jones was filmed.
