not even senator...he's up for 4th term Congressman. the operative quote was:

"I don't want to disparage anyone because of their race, their ethnicity, their name - whatever their religion their father might have been," he said. "I'll just say this: When you think about the optics of a Barack Obama potentially getting elected President of the United States -- I mean, what does this look like to the rest of the world? What does it look like to the world of Islam?"

"I will tell you that, if he is elected president, then the radical Islamists, the al-Qaida, the radical Islamists and their supporters, will be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on September 11 because they will declare victory in this War on Terror."

King thinks radical Islamists will say the United States has capitulated because the Obama administration would be pulling troops out of any conflict associated with al-Qaida.

"Additionally, his middle name (Hussein) does matter," King said. "It matters because they read a meaning into that in the rest of the world. That has a special meaning to them. They will be dancing in the streets because of his middle name. They will be dancing in the streets because of who his father was and because of his posture that says: Pull out of the Middle East and pull out of this conflict."

He continued: "There are implications that have to do with who he is and the position that he's taken. If he were strong on national defense and said 'I'm going to go over there and we're going to fight and we're going to win, we'll come home with a victory,' that's different. But that's not what he said. They will be dancing in the streets if he's elected president. That has a chilling aspect on how difficult it will be to ever win this Global War on Terror." source: Daily Reporter

A pretty stupid thing for King to say. Wonder what his FR screen name is...?

That's a pretty stupid thing for you to write, I wonder what your DU screen name is...?

I think Mr. King’s comments were right on target. Political correctness is destroying this country - it’s refreshing to hear someone speak the truth!

Ben, you are the embarrassment. You prefer lies rather than truth. Sad.

The constitution requires that each state have at least one conservative.

Rep. King makes complete sense. And of course the crazy street dancers will dance in the street if Obama were to win.
It's the connection - it's the "Hussein" connection, and the perceived surrender if Obama were to get in and begin Troop withdrawl. Obama is wrong.
Steve King is right, and the Libs are the new crazy street dancers right here.

Brainwashed is no way to go through life.

I hope Rep. King is re-elected with ease. The way it should be.

"And Mr. King played right into their hands with his stupid comments. What a putz."

So if a Republican makes a truthful statement and the Dims avoid the issue by acting 'offended', that makes the Republican a stupid putz? Well, if it does, then we need a lot more 'stupid putzes' out there.

Just curious, what would you call a Dim who cannot confront an issue on its merits because they are always too busy name-calling, indulging in personal attacks, and (of course) being offended.

Ain't free speech wonderful. Seriously.

Mr. Soriano has that right, of course!

I just wish when people exercise that right they'd be a liitle more substanstive. How is the Congressman an embarrassment to our country, a fear-monger; how does he shame the values of our country; how is he divisive, racist, small-minded, and betraying his constituents' interests and values?

Just a little hint, please.

Then, if given the chance to meet, we can have an amiable discussion, right Mr. Soriano?

Wot?

You say that if I agree with the Congressman I'm what?

I ask all good citizens of Cedar Falls to see what we can do to ensure his defeat.

Since all of those "citizens" are well over a hundred miles outside Representative King's Fifth District, I doubt they'll have much impact in any case.

a fear-mongering politician who should not be allowed through re-election to shame the values upon which our country was founded.

Steve King is one of the few Iowa politicians who actually has a clue what the "values upon which our country was founded" even are.

Barack Hussein Obama
Barack Hussein Obama
Barack Hussein Obama
Barack Hussein Obama
Barack Hussein Obama

Get used to it.

Yes, there are good reasons to oppose him - including the fact that his goal as president would be to weaken and divide America to the benefit of the enemies of freedom and tolerance, take money away from those who earn it and dump it down a giant rat hole, create and expand government programs that make people more dependent on government and less free and able to run their own lives.

But I would argue that any man who fears the use of his own name has a real problem. Most of us go over this sort of thing in about the third grade. If he’s concerned what people might construe from his middle name then he needs to do a better job of educating and informing the electorate. A president has to be a leader, not a whining 10 year old.

If I disagree, its fearmongering, divisive, ad nauseum.

Predictable.

If there’s any truth to this, every patriotic American should see to it that no matter what happens electorally, that Obama never takes the oath of office. seriously.

No, Campy, I heard/read what he said; and, it’s time to elect more like him. As they say, “truth to power.”

No, King is not an embarrassment, but rather this author is. He should be fired immediately.

Thank God for Rep. Steve King.....too bad we didn’t have more like him. Typically the RATS “can’t handle the truth”.
