No, not really.
If the democrat primary goes to convention, that’s really only a 2 month campaign between solely mccain and the democrat after it’s done.
In the mean time, obama’s negatives are going higher without mccain having to get himself messy, clinton is ruining the democratic brand for many younger voters who would never trust the dems again if she is nominated and she will ensure that many, many other democrats (blacks, extreme liberals, etc) will not vote for her because of the way she kneecapped their ‘golden boy’ obama.
The longer the trench warfare goes on, the more costly it is to both sides.

This should be repeated often. The damage being done now could affect he Dems long after November.
