The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton essentially even in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Its Obama 46% Clinton 45% (see recent daily results). This reflects an unusually sharp change from yesterdays results when Obama led by eight points and reached the 50% level of support for the first time. Daily tracking results are collected via nightly telephone surveys and reported on a four-day rolling average basis. Last nights results were very favorable for Clinton and it remains to be seen whether this marks a lasting change in the race or is merely statistical noise. Single night results are based upon very small samples and are more volatile than the overall tracking poll.
Looking to November, John McCain now holds a slight lead over both Democrats in the General Election. Its McCain 47% Obama 42% and McCain 46% Clinton 42% (see recent daily results). It appears that Clintons challenges to Obama may be helping McCain at least in the short-term. McCains polling numbers against Obama began improving during the run-up to the hard-fought Democratic Primaries in Ohio and Texas. Obama has a three-percentage point edge over McCain among unaffiliated voters but is currently supported by just 65% of Democrats. By way of comparison, McCain earns the vote from 80% of Republicans.

Tell that to the one who's behind it (can you guess who she is?)
I concur with Fresh Wind, mrs bill clinton has much stronger ties to ABC news than any (R) foe.
Obama may be damaged goods by the time of the Democratic convention and delegates will unify around Clinton who goes on to win in November.”
Clinton is still behind in delegates by 100 delegates.
But you are right, we should not risk a Clinton nomination at this time by boosting her chances through any Republican subterfuge or support. The main benefit to Republicans is to get Hillary to raise these issues, for the media wont play once its Saint barack vs Evil Republicans.
But take it too far and the point is lost.
The Deomocrat party in 2008 is a political perfect storm. This is going to be fun.
“I dont think we want barak to win the nomination.”
We want Obama to win the nomination than lose big in the general election. This will put their two heaviest hitters in the Unelectable category - Hillary will be hated for her part in roughing up Obama and will not get nominated after she loses the nomination this year.
The left will have seen a half billion investment in political advocacy go up in smoke, *and* will set back the leftists and the gender/race hustlers big time.
This will be a huge defensive win.
McKinnon should resign now.
We dont need weak sisters on the campaign.
You go Annie....well said.
Good, good. Hillary is the easier candidate for us to beat come November. I hope she wins the primary thanks to some backroom deals with the superdelegates. An important voting group will refuse to vote for someone who “stole” the election for Obama.
Has anyone noticed that the freepers who just a few months ago were calling folks like me racist and bigot for pointing out that Obama was tied to a black nationalist church are now very quiet.
I can hardly find a one on any thread.
Has wideawakes opened back up?
stick to the issues, don’t talk about irrelevant stuff like Obama’s Muslim background or his middle name or nasty wife etc..they chirped loudly wagging the bigot card.
this is too rich....
Nonsense. Have you actually looked at the electoral math? The filthy Beast WILL win States like PA and OH if she is the nominee. Obama most likely can't win either.
You also forget the power of the corrupt Klintoon Machine. She doesn't have to beat McCain, her minions will steal the election for her.
I have even heard black conservative call-in foilks on talk radio say that. I have a black lady who works for me and she has always told me "Barack ain't black, he just thinks he is". She's for Hillary.
Nonsense squared, my FRiend. (And I say that with respect, something your post seemed to be missing.)
I think you seriously underestimate what Hillary “stealing” the election from Obama would do to the african american vote come November.
As for the “Corrupt Klintoon Machine”, there is going to be an evil Democratic machine in place no matter which candidate gets the nod. With Hillary, it’s a bit more established, but there is no doubt in my mind that there will be some major fraud going on. But as they say, it’s hard to steal an election if the result isn’t close. With Obama, it would be very close. Independent loves Obama and they love McCain. Independents don’t share that same love for the Beast. (And again, african americnas would not love Hillary one bit if she won at this point.)
Oh, and we should probably thank Hillary for this story on Obama. McCain wouldn’t have had the balls to push this story and everyone knows it. If she had lost OH and TX and had withdrawn from the race, this would have never been made a big deal by ABC news and the rest of the MSM.
And then there’s that bit about McCain’s numbers rising while the two Democrats continue to duke it out. So, thank you to those who kept her in the race this far.
Now, if we could end up with a scenario where Obama was the nominee but was so badly hurt by a Hillary Kamikazee move that he was unelectable in the GE, that would also be rather nice. I just don’t see that happening.
Believe me. We share the same dislike for Hillary. We just strongly disagree on the best way to keep the WH in Republican hands.
Actually I call it having WDI(Whitey Did It) Syndrome.
wardaddy, I can’t tell if you are making insinuations, or just general observations.
"Has anyone noticed that the freepers who just a few months ago were calling folks like me racist and bigot for pointing out that Obama was tied to a black nationalist church are now very quiet."
Apparently, they were wrong.
How sweet is is...
BTW, the "racist" and "bigot" words don't mean anything anymore.
They've been done to death.
Rich...it is...lol
You won’t see Dems vote Republican . I think most people have already made up their mind on who to vote for and i doubt many really switch loyalties .
I wouldn’t get cocky just yet my friend. Mc Cain is a weak candidate at best. We have no one on our side who is outstanding.
just recounting that the race baiters are notably absent from these threads.
His age, the ire he gets from folks like me on the right wing and his strong security stance does indeed appeal to older Dems and the few moderates to be found.
Barack’s past will kill him.
Hillary gets the nod and echo boomer dumbasses and blacks will get pissed and stay home.
I see all this as great for the GOP....conservatism has already lost this elction.
You are a HOOT!
