Reports by the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that the earth is experiencing unprecedented global warming are flawed and cannot be supported, investigators now report.
In a study reported in the Washington Times, a panel of statisticians, chaired by Edward J. Wegman of George Mason University, found significant problems with the methods of analysis used by the researchers and with the IPCC's peer review process.
According to the Times, "IPCC reports have predicted average world temperatures will increase dramatically, leading to the spread of tropical diseases, severe drought, the rapid melting of the world's glaciers and ice caps, and rising sea levels." The Times notes, however that "several assessments of the IPCC's work have shown the techniques and methods used to derive its climate predictions are fundamentally flawed."
In a 2001 report, the IPCC published an image commonly referred to as the "hockey stick," the Times explained, adding that it showed relatively stable temperatures from A.D. 1000 to 1900, with temperatures rising steeply from 1900 to 2000. "The IPCC and public figures, such as former Vice President Al Gore, have used the hockey stick to support the conclusion that human energy use over the last 100 years has caused an unprecedented rise in global warming," according to the Times.
Since those claims have been discounted by several studies which the newspaper notes cast doubt on the accuracy of the hockey stick, Congress in 2006 requested an independent analysis by Wegman and his panel.

I'm going to email this article to all of my local, state and federal Representatives just to make sure that they know that I know.
There's lawsuits waiting to happen in states that have enacted laws based on this junk science. Banning AL Gore movie in schools as a "science documentary" is a must.
That,s why the new religion's High Priests recently started to use a new buzzword "climat change".
This way they can always be right.
Climate (weather) has been changing through past millenia every year, every day and every minute.
You sure got that right. In the 1960's when Earth Day was started, and you had the ad of the Native American looking at all the trash left by the white man and cried a single tear, the Socialists had a cause celeb to rally people around.
Fast forward to the 21st Century, and the air is the cleanest it has been in the industrial age, and ditto the water. The Socialists needed a new cause to rally the troop around, and it became Global Climate Change.
One can measure the quality of the air, or the water, but it is harder to easily debunk Global Climate Change, when the "effects" are so subjective, like "more and stronger storms."

What’s irritating is the fact the state govts are allocating monies to fix global warming when no one knows what starts, when its finished, or what must be really done. It’s an international boondoggle. It’s two words that encompass everything but says nothing. AAArrrrggggg!!!!
Another amusing story was one on Jimmy Carter fighting a tax cut proposed by Republicans and supported by Republican candidate Ronald Reagan. Carter said we cannot afford to cut taxes during a recession. Funny how things have changed very little and the Democrats have learned nothing.
The “hockey stick” and other AGW theories have been largely debunked when reviewed with true scientific standards. However, it was Al Gore that tried to convince the world that a “consensus” of scientists had accepted theses theories. What Gore missed is that is NOT how true science operates. In science every theory is open to scrutiny and if the data is flawed, the methodology is unsound or if the model does not produce consistent results with different data sets then the theory is either refined to correct these problems or discarded as being initially wrong. The Global warming crowd cannot abide by such scrutiny and has had to resort to calling those who are pointing out these flaws as “deniers”. AGW has become a cult based in dogma not science.

A scientist who once said he dreamed of becoming a second Hwang Woo-suk saw his dream turn into a nightmare yesterday when he was also caught fabricating scientific research.
The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology said yesterday that Kim Tae-kook, a professor of biological science at the school, fabricated data for two papers that were published in two renowned journals.
In July 2005, he and five co-authors published a report in ¡°Science,¡± claiming they developed a technology that can identify molecular targets inside living cells.
Kim published another paper in ¡°Nature Chemical Biology,¡± a sister magazine of ¡°Nature,¡± in June 2006. In an article titled, ¡°Small molecule-based reversible reprogramming of cellular lifespan,¡± Kim and his colleagues claimed to have found a molecule that can extend the lifespan of mammalian cells.
Both papers were praised as major breakthroughs in life-extension science.
Kaist, however, said Kim made up data for both papers, citing its internal investigation. The elite science university suspended Kim from the faculty and informed both journals about the problem.
¡°We found that Kim tampered with the magnification of microscopic photos to exaggerate his research outcomes,¡± Lee Gyun-min, the dean of Kaist¡¯s Department of Biological Sciences, said yesterday. The investigation confirmed the practice with one of Kim¡¯s co-authors, he added.
¡°We sent Kim an inquiry to confirm the data fabrication, but he did not reply,¡± Lee said.
The investigation was prompted after one of Kim¡¯s co-authors expressed doubts about the research. After failing to duplicate the result by restaging the experiment, the scientist asked Kaist to investigate.
Our property & privacy rights are gone. Gun rights are a joke. Our wages are taken before we collect them. Our kids are indoctrinated by the schools, while intentionally being keep ignorant.
The overseers grow rich & fat, while we have to obey their every desire. And the rules don't apply to them - just us citizen/slaves.
I hope I live to see the start of the next American Revolution! It will take that to reverse our disastrous course.
