Could this guy have been any more wrong about the surge?
There's loads more of these weekly PDF bulletins, but you have to go in through the back door on google to see them.
Also, notice on the second page that "black" is capitalized but not "white."

The sooner people understand that Obama is spearheading a black separatist movement as Wright’s handmaiden and mouthpiece - the better.

Anybody know why the church's weekly "Action Items" always include 1. Boycott Walmart and Sam's Club but never something like, I don't know, Tell a co-worker (fellow student, friend, neighbor) about redemption provided through Christ Jesus our Lord?

I guess I'm missing the edification in these bulletins. I understand a church being socially conscience, but to never equate the failings of society with the lack of Christ-centered individuals in that society, nor to explain that evangelism and spiritual growth are the only solutions to that problem amazes me.
Yesterday on Rush I heard Rush say that "this is not, at least I think it's not, the black church experience. If it is then something is wrong." Well, although I am not black, nor do I attend a "black church", I have been a guest at many. The energy that this "pastor" has is indicative of almost every "black church" I attended, the message is most definitely NOT!!! Most churches, no matter the color of the majority of the parishoners, no matter the denomination (I'm talking of most of the "mainstream" prodestant denominations) get the message right. That is: No matter your politics or background, there is one God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Joseph and Jesus of Nazereth is his Son. Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth as a human, lived a perfect life as a teacher of God's Kingdom and, at the end of his ministry died on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins. All men fall short of the Glory of God due to our sinfulness, however, by accepting Christ as our Lord and accepting Him as our Savior through his sacrifice we are redeemed (bought at the price of Christ's sacrifice) to salvation with God.
Yeah, most churches get that right and focus all of their teaching around it. This church, from what I've seen and read, doesn't seem to do that. Those are some long weekly publications from this church (36 pages... WOW!!!). Though the Bible is quoted on at least three of those 36 pages weekly, it seems that the message of the publication, and by default, the ministry team, is rarely, if ever, Biblically based or centered around the essential message that I mentioned before. The impression that I get from reading these and hearing the pastor at the pulpit is that the church is more of a political action group with spiritual songs than it is a fellowship of the body of Christ.
I feel very sad for the members. Maybe... hopefully... I'll pray that the attention the church is getting may be used by God to strike a chord with some of the members and get them to realize where this church falls short so that it can be brought back to the message of Christ and fellowship of the body of Christ.
